Has anyone stayed here? The pools and waterslide look great! How is this hotel? Worth it?

Thanks!

I stayed there in Nov. 2009 and loved it! We were actually with an extemely large group spread out over 4 hotels, and we were assigned to the Hyatt, and so glad we were! We had a room in the high rise facing the Pacific, stunning sunset views!! The slides were cool, and the pool area had a nice "resort" feel to it--it was a little cold though in November, it was heated but I would have liked it to be heated a little more. It is centrally located too to my favorite areas in SD, Coronado and La Jolla. I highly recommend it.

My co-worker and his wife stayed there just a couple of months ago for their anniversary (a little stay-cation, since we live in San Diego), and really liked it, he said the rooms were very nice.

It's a fantastic property. We've stayed there two times. The pools and slides are great but be prepared for it not to be very warm. The rooms are typical Hyatt; clean and well appointed. If you have a room in the tower, ask for a room on the Sea World side; you'll be able to see the fireworks from there.

The restaurant used to have a really good breakfast buffet. Now it is quite middling. If you have a free breakfast as part of a package, it's well worth the money. If you have to pay for breakfast: GO ELSEWHERE! There is a Chik Fil A a few miles down the road.

Also: if you intend to go to SW, there is a water taxi that you can use which can be a fun way to travel to the park.

The slide at the pool shuts down early, so make sure you are there early in the day if you want to use it. We had a nice time there. We love breakfast at The Mission which is just minutes away, we did not eat at any of the hotel's restaurants as The Mission is our favorite restaurant and we eat there every chance we get. We did not like that parking was so expensive- $20 per night! yikes. And there are no other parking options. But the place is pretty and you can rent kayaks/boats nearby and the little marina area is nice to walk around at night. We stayed at The Catamaran once and liked it much better though.
