Can anyone give a recent update on the process? What time were you picked up in the lobby? Do you have to wait for that group? I’m hoping to be on the first bus out but if they are later picking up the group, or if the group is too big, that might not happen. Thanks!

I am not sure of the process if you book the hotel through Disney. We always book the hotel on our own - process is very simple. You head down to the Disney Express/Cruise area in terminal B and check in with the cast members there. I think the first bus is around 10:30am.

When we did it in November, we didn't go to the Disney express area. There was an area by the MCO Hyatt check in desk that we were to wait in. Then they walked us to the bus after they checked us in.

We stayed at the Hyatt the night before the February 7 Dream sailing. We had booked the room through Disney. We were told to meet in the Hyatt lobby at 10:00 for a 10:30 departure, but when I went down earlier that morning just to check on things, the Disney crew member there told me to check in around 9:45. We went down around 9:40 and some families had already checked in ahead of us. We were given a "Mickey" card, which got us on the first bus. Our cards were numbered 18, 19, 20, and 21, so I am guessing 17 guests had checked in before us. We took a seat in the area next to the Hyatt lobby with the other guests who would be on the bus. My photos indicate that right at 10:00 we were called to gather in a line and they took us down to a waiting bus, separate and apart from the buses the people at the Terminal B check-in use. The bus left the property at 10:15. I'm not sure if there were other Hyatt guests on a second bus or if we all fit on the first bus. We pulled up at the port at 10:59.

We sailed on 2/5. We went to the Disney desk around 8:00 am, checked-in, filled out our Health Questionnaire, and they told us to come back at 9:45. We probably got down there at 9:50 and were assigned to the 2nd bus when we went back up to the desk. I would make sure you get down there prior to 9:45 if you want to be on the first bus. By the time we got on the ship they were boarding groups 1-20 and we had been assigned group 4 so I was a little aggravated that the check-in at 8 am didn't mean anything.

One thing that is important- if you don't book through Disney you can still use the process from the Hyatt lobby but you should call DCL and let them know that you booked the Hyatt MCO separately so they'll be aware that you'll be part of the Hyatt group. When you check into the hotel tell them that you'll be taking DCL transportation in the morning as well. This past October we had the same experience as yfamdiscruise.

How many people are the loading onto the buses nowadays? Are they filling them or limiting passengers?

Our experience was that they were filling them. We were the second to last family to board our particular bus when returning to MCO, and our kids scored the last pair of seats but my DH and I had to split up because at that point there were only a few random single seats open throughout the bus.

We had the same experience about a week ago. The bus was very full and only single seats were available for our group. That was after the cruise, though.

There are 2 of us traveling. I’m thinking one should wait at the Hyatt and the other should go done to the bus loading area, just to see who gets a better assignment. I’m trying to figure out if Hyatt folks get priority over other transport riders or visa versa.

The Hyatt folks get a separate bus. It's not shared with the people down in the basement of B side.

Does anyone know about baggage? Do you take that down with you?

As long as you’re all set up with Disney and the Hyatt, they will come collect your bags from your Hyatt room and then you’ll next see them outside your stateroom on the ship. They collected ours shortly after 8:00 a.m.

In December I was given a time to meet a Disney representative in the lobby. We were taken down to the bus. Our luggage was picked up. Easy process.

Thats great thanks!

Also, you don't have to let them pick up your luggage from your hotel room. We weren't ready to go when they came to get ours, so we kept it and brought it down to the lobby with us. When we checked in with the DCL rep there, someone came to get our luggage and take it out to the bus for us.

Do you know if the terminal folks load any earlier than the Hyatt folks? It used to be that the terminal opened at 8:30, bus loading started at 9:00, and first bus was full and in its way be 9:20ish. If they don’t load Hyatt folks until after 10, that would put that bus behind-plus I’d be late for my early PAT. Just trying to give myself the best shot of early arrival and testing.
