I picked it up on priceline for an upcoming trip. I have been to the website. Any personal experience out there? I be travelling with my 8 year old son.

I've never stayed there, but I have walked around the grounds many years ago (like 20). It was very nice and in a great location for Sea World.

I will also be staying at the Hyatt Islandia on Mission Bay in San Diego 8-21/8-25 via a priceline bid. What are your dates?

I found some reviews on Travelocity's website and also on biddingfortravel.com. Most reviews are positive, especially for location.

My dad travels here every year for a convention and usually someone from the family tags along to keep my mom company. My six year old loves to walk along the harbor to check out all of the boats.

My parents stayed in a suite this year and my mom said most of the rooms are being redone and looked great. Hopefully, you will be staying in the newer rooms. We have eaten at both restaurants and they were good.

You can see the fireworks from Sea World from your room or in front of the hotel. We also visited Old Town, the San Diego Zoo, La Jolla and the boardwalk place pretty close to the hotel. I can't remember the name of it. My son enjoyed the Pirate Cove place there. Sort of an indoor playground. It was a good place for roaming around and having fun, plus inside if it is hot outside.

The pool at the hotel was good too.
