Anyone been here?

Is this anything special or just somewhere fancy to have a drink?

Wouldn;t mind going for a few drinks out but am not sure what to expect, anyone have any feedback or knowledge on this?

cheesy euro pop and expensive drinks doesn't sound to enthrawling really, may be nicer to have a drink elsewhere then.

Maybe in one of the disney hotels. Would be good for us to have a mouche about while heading back to the Holiday Inn and work out where we fancy staying next!

Any recommendation for an after Disney drink then?

How about a cocktail in the DLH?

a cocktail sounds a good idea, im afraid if I take my gf into the DLH she'll never want to leave though!

Is this in Inventions or California Grill then or do they have a seperate bar area we can go in?

As we're staying off site too would this be fround upon, even if we had AP's, i thought it would be so was thinking of the other hotels which would be a bit more slack?

Can you tell i've never been before!, Can't wait till after out trip to come back on here and actually answer questions for a change :goodvibes

No, it's like Vegas, the hotels welcome anyone in the public areas. Jack and I wandrered around the DLH, they wouldn;t dare stop you spending your money on them!!

Also, the Cafe Fantasia is a cocktail bar, which looks over fantasia gardens. And is seperate to the restaurants. :)

It's a separate bar - opposite Inventions and California Grill. They won't care where you're staying, the hotels are essentially public access to everything but the pool.

Hurricanes is horrible. I hated it when i went - really expensive and terrible music. Ick. Or maybe i'm just getting old.

Anyway, I've always quite liked the Bar/Lounge in the Newport Bay. More informal than DLH and quieter than HNY. It's quite nice to sit and look out over the lake. We had a pre-bed drink (hot chocolate for me) every evening when we stayed at NBC.

thanks Little Mermaid, Torsie and Stitch, very helpful as ever inbetween your chatting :rotfl:

We'll have to do the rounds inbetween the hotels on the way back to the holiday inn, cocktails sounds very nice!!

Can you actually visit all the hotels, walk past Sante Fe and walk through to the Holiday Inn ?

OR do you have to go back to an offical entrance?

You can walk from the Santa Fe to the Holiday Inn, but its along a road thats not particularly well-lit.

If you go to the bars at the HNY or NPBC, you don't have far to walk down to the shuttle bus stop for the Holiday Inn.

well thanks tripodjw and the suitably named dlpdaft!

that sounds a good idea, i like the idea of having a drink overlooking the lake one night and catching the shuttle back definatley makes sense.

Hurricanes has a 100% not recommended stamp of approval so far!

I would only be going Hurricanes if i felt the need to bust some dance moves. Sadly even though i hate euro pop music once ive had a few to drink i can't be responsible for my actions lol.

There is a sports bar in the Village if you fancy sitting there watching the world go by in the Village.

Sequoia Lodge also has a very nice relaxing bar which serves lovely cocktails. Go in by the entrance by the lake and upstairs.

Also the bar in DLH is upstairs as well if you want to look as though you know where you're going - go up stairs and across the bridge bit passed the shop and you'll see it

The bar in HNY looks really nice but we found it a bit too formal when we popped in at Easter. They asked at the door how many of us there were and then mait us wait while they cleared a table for us even though teh palce was almost empty and there were loads of free tables.

The prices also get cheaper according to the hotel - cocktails in Cheyenne are about €2 cheaper than S Lodge which is about €2 cheaper than DLH etc

Im not too keen on the bar at Holiday Inn - it reminds me of an airport waiting area

However the Explorers which is very close to the HI has 2 very nice bars

Not that I know too much about them or anything :rolleyes1

I'm really looking forward to getting to sample at least one of the DLRP bars this trip... :goodvibes

OOhh, yeah the SL bar is very nice and relaxing, a great sandwich for 5E too. The HNY bar is also nice for a late night coffee :)

Do the bars offer coffees and hot chocolates?
