Please send pixie dust and prayers our way. Hurricane Ivan is heading for us as I type this. I am in Mobile but my parents and siblings live on Dauphin Island, AL. I am scared because I saw what Frederic did to the island in 1979. It destroyed the bridge to it and it was not until 1982 when the new bridge opened. We use ferries and private boats to get back and forth to the mainland.

Thanks

Hi, just wanted to say that we currently live in Dothan, but are from Mobile. Our family is still there and my inlaws have a home on DI.

Lots of prayers going out that way, but doesn't look like we are out of the woods either.

Hi AURxTiger,
Good luck and stay safe, but We are also in your shoes because they are saying it is coming in about 50 miles from us. And I am staying home because I have 3 big bird, 5 cats and a big dog. We are going to ride this one out with all of my animals, but this morning I evacuated my 2 horses because the public barn that they stay in is not that strong. So again good luck and stay safe.
Pam

Pixie dust and prayers down on the gulf coast. We are in Birmingham and are bracing for the storm. They say we may have 75 mph winds even in central Alabama. Please pray that everyone in the storms path makes it through ok.

I tried to talk my dh into heading on down to disney to escape the storm but he is not buying it..........phooie!!!

Saw on the news tonight a boarded up window with "Gone to Disney World" spray painted on it. You just made me laugh.

But seriously having just been through Charley and Frances (both eyes passed within 10 miles of our house) my prayers are with you all. I hope that everyone in Ivan's way fairs well and that the damage that he leaves behind is not as bad as the forecasters are expecting. I saw a report tonight on the weather channel with the Dauphin Island police and how they were going door to door to get everyone out. Seems so unreal, we are just at the height of Hurricane season and we are already on the 10th named storm (Jeanne...which better not come to Florida as is currently predicted...swing north Jeanne swing north).

Good luck all and please be sure to let us all know you are ok when you are able to.

Hi AURxTiger! Are you a fellow Auburn fan? We are also in Mobile and I am currently not able to sleep at all! My DH, DSx2 and DDx1 will be riding out the storm at a relative's house in west Mobile and I will be taking care of anyone who needs to have a baby during a major hurricane! I am just sick that I didn't encourage them to leave while the leaving was good!......I wish you and your parents and all of us lots of pixie dust and many blessings.

My wife and myself are both AU grads. We are riding out Ivan at Providence Hospital. We both work there and when can take our 2 lDS ages 6 and 2.

Auburn fans here too! War Eagle!!!

Libertybelle-thank you for your well wishes and prayers. Everyone here is freaking out....we are not used to this type of storm at all. There are no batteries or water to be found in Birmingham.

There isn't anything to be found here in Dothan either. We are already starting to experience some of the winds and it is misting right now.

Prayers for us all. This is a very big storm and covering a large area.

yes, we are most definatally praying for you.
It looks like you are going to get a direct hit.
I hope you have evacuated!!

let us know how you are when this all passes, so we
will not worry!!

God Bless!

To all of those in Ivan's path, my prayers for you and your families to be safe.

My husband's grandmother decided to ride out the storm
in NEw ORleans, I hope and pray her and all the other's there
will be okay. (she is a stubborn woman)

Prayers to all!!!:sunny:

Hi 232271,
Right now in New Orleans the wind is picking up, and the tide is coming in. On the good news for New Orleans , Ivan is starting to turn more NorthEast.

Our friends in Pensacola and Fort Walton Beach have evacuated and I am scared for all of you down there in the path of Ivan. Prayers, Pixie Dust and whatever else to bring safety to all. Watching the Weather Channel is enough for me.

9/15/04 3:30 CST from Panama City Beach, FL. Very high waves, some wind and rain.

Hi all! I am in downtown Mobile at a local hospital (working). The wind and rain are already terrible! The power is out where my family is in west Mobile. Spirits are up at the hospital because we all have each other.....but I am so worried about my family!......

They showed pictures of the waves crashing over the fishing pier at Pensacola at 9. They were HUGE! At least 4-6 feet above the top of the pier. The weather channel people actually moved inland to safety...a whole 4 1/2 miles. Mobile looks like it is getting hit very hard already. I hope that everyone stays safe!
