Hurricane damaged hotels????

Which hotels were most damaged by the hurricane? I fear mold and mildew issues with excessive moisture in the rooms that were effected. We're booked at POFQ over Christmas. I can't handle mold and mildew!!!

aside from downed trees and sighns no rooms were damaged so you shouldn't have any problems.

I've read where some rooms have had water damage. Just wondering if it was an isolated problem or if one hotel(s) was hit harder/has more issues.

The Contemporary was damaged by a water break and the hurricane. They are working on it.

When you check in mention your mold and mildew issues and I am sure you will be OK.

I believe the Downtown Disney hotels sustained the most damage. There were some unconfirmed reports of a tornado going thru that area. The Doubletree Hotel sustained major damage to its exterior wall (though this affected only a small portion of the rooms). The Royal Plaza Hotel had so much damage that they've closed it until January for major repairs.

The WDW-owned properties seem to have been spared any major damage (though Disney's Vero Beach Resort is closed until early November since it took a direct hit from both Frances and Jeanne).

My cousin dh works at the Poly and he told me two weeks ago that 77 rooms were water damaged. as well as the contempory in their rooms too.

There was water damage in some parts of the YC, not sure any sleeping rooms were affected.

WL had water damage in the lobby.

Just got a e-mail from Hotel Royal Plaza, through my union travel benefits.

Had this in it, "Florida has been hard-hit by hurricanes Charley, Frances, Ivan and Jeanne. As a result of damage sustained during these hurricanes, The Hotel Royal Plaza will be closed for the remainder of 2004. The hotel hopes to be operating again by May 2005"
