I posted this on the Disney thread, but I am so excited and I know that you all on the "dark side" are nicer......;)

We had been to Disney during Hurricane Charley. We were handed a paper that said the park was closing early and that if you had tickets that expired take them to the resort front desk and they could help.

Well, we were about the last ones left standing in Epcot that day (rode Mission Mars 5x in a row) and the resort didn't have any idea at what to do with the tickets.

So.. we put the tickets in our memory album as a fancy souvenir.

 Today, I suddenly remember those tickets. I call Disney--several different people until I get the magic ticket person. :wizard: She obtains my info from my tickets and that when I visit WDW over Christmas all I have to do is show them my original notice about the Hurricane and my tickets and we will be issued 4 one day park hopper passes!:cool1: :goodvibes

Even sweeter is the fact that I looked up the price for 4 one day park hopper passes, the cost is $464 Ka-ching!!

And bonus--I didn't even have to argue for this magic moment:thumbsup2

Congratulations on the extra helping of magic! My sister is there right now, she called me from "Norway" this morning...:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Have a great trip!

That's pretty sweet. Don't forget to buy your 7-day Universal tix so you can see all all the cool stuff. :cool2:

We too were there for Hurricane Charley - but our tix were the "non-expiring" sort, so we didn't have to make the call as you did. We spent the day at Epcot 'til they threw us out at 1 pm. Later that week, sure enough, the day was still there on our tickets. Pretty good deal, although it was sort of like a guilty pleasure, seeing all the destruction around, and hearing the CMs discuss having no power, home damages, etc.... and there I am, all happy cuz I got a freebie day on my ticket....

Does that make me a bad gopher?

Too funny!

We already have reservations at PBH so we will sneak over to Disney AK to ride Everest, which we haven't done.

I am like you--we had been at EPCOT that day and walked all the way to the left to get out of the park--passed 2 security guards who didn't stop us. Then we were almost to the exit, a security guard rode up on one of those little scooter things and told us to go back the way we had came--oohh my aching feet.

We were at the Swan when we finally got back to our room about 4 p.m, the lobby was freaky--not a soul and silent. Of course, we didn't have our cameras. Planned on going back down to take a picture, but fell asleep.
When we did return, all the business people were having one huge party overflowing everywhere.

Disney would not allow people to leave the hotel. My DH found a back door that wasn't being guarded and snuck over to the other hotel and got pictures of the storm, but it was so dark they are not worth posting. Yes--I put his life in danger for some pics.

Like you, we felt guilty enjoying the parks the next day and kinda feel just a teency built guilty now about these passes, but....:rolleyes1
