Hulk and Rip Roller Coaster

thanks for the pictures Bluer!

before all the new restrictions started, i was there at RRR when a cell phone hit the pavement and splattered.......
it came from a rider on the RRR.

glad it hit the pavement and not a person.

Loose items either thrown or lost while riding is what caused the end of "Dueling" Dragons. Too many people think flying objects are fun to cause.

Quick question on this since we're heading back down in a few weeks and haven't researched this yet - if the pockets are zippered/buttoned I'm assuming it's a non issue for a wallet or cell phone...?

I can tell you that I was talking to dw and playing with my phone before I even got in line (Hulk). Just milling around at the front of the ride. I stuck my phone in my shorts pocket, cargo pocket with velcro closure, and started walking through the queue. I was stopped by one of the TM's in the queue and told I had to put my phone in a locker even though I told him it was closed with velcro.

How about a lanyard under the shirt? Since they take express pass now they've got to have some allowance for that, yes?

I usually wear a strap on my sunglasses so I can just let them hang from my neck. When I get on coasters, I just tuck them under my shirt so they don't fly around. Didn't have any issues.

Yep. They didn't want you carrying anything, even in zippered pockets. We did it twice, once putting our little bits of pocket stuff and my lanyard in the locker. Second time, half sat it out and held our stuff. DH and DS wear prescription glasses and could wear those.

Good to know. I wonder if my lanyard, placed under my shirt will be an issue.

.

Yep, they'll see it and make you take it off and put in a locker.
They noticed my son's chapstick in his front pants pocket. They've got eagle eyes at those attractions.

Not true in our experience last week. They told us to tuck them inside our shirts after scanning our express passes.

2 people were injured in a 4 week span from loose items. One lost an eye.

I'm seeing a theme. Things that someone might take out and fool with they make you leave. A phone in a pocket might be pulled out once on the ride. Chapstick might be mindlessly pulled out. Coins in a zippered pocket might be taken out.

Glasses are things for seeing and few are going to just whip them around. Lanyards are for holding tickets and express passes and aren't something you can do something with on a ride. So those things are allowed.

Was that at Rip Rocket?
We were there last week too....and no items allowed.

Other rides a lanyard wasn't a problem to have on.

Yes, it was December 15-18. We rode it 6 or 7 times.

The TM at the bottom of the stairs would scan our express passes on our lanyards, then tell us to tuck them inside our shirts.

We went last week and they never said boo about cell and keys in front pockets and wallet in the back pocket. Went on RR twice and Hulk once. My daughter's cell doesn't even fit more than 75% in her pocket since the pockets on girls jeans are small. Not closed pockets regular jeans open pockets mens and womens.

Just back today from a great trip! My nephews got busted at RRR - one had a baseball cap in his pocket and the other had his phone in a zippered pocket in his jacket. Both had to put their stuff in lockers to be able to ride.

Lanyards were fine, though.

well, since my DH and DS won't be caught dead on either ride, we'll just hand our stuff to them and we should be just fine thankfully. Really good to know the ins and outs though :)

We are just leaving from a long weekend. Other than kicking one person off with a GoPro on the Hulk, they allowed people to put cell phones in pockets and didn't check any pockets when entering the lines during the three days we were there.
