Huh? iTunes Apps - US versus CAN store?

My daughter wanted to purchase an app. An H2O: Just add Water app.

A message popped up saying "This product is not available in the Canadian store." After clicking on OK (or whatever), the App disappeared. We can't even find it now. Are all the apps now getting filtered out because we're Canadian?

I wasn't aware there is a Canadian iTunes App store versus an US store. Is this common? I thought anyone with apple products could purchase apps through iTunes.

Can anyone shed some light on this please? Thanks!

There are individual iTunes stores for well over four dozen countries. Not all apps are available in all countries, often due to copyright laws.

Ugh - figures. Strange thing, I could have sworn we were purchasing from the US store. (Of course I thought there was only one iTunes store). It seems before this message came up, we were getting a lot more options for apps.
