Anyone hear about this from MS- lookins like the policy has been completely changed- You can call 11 or 7 months prior to check-IN now- and book up to a week! This is on DVCNEWS.com- go read the full story- don't want to copy and paste - not sure the webmaster's over there would approve of that

If this is true, it should have been communicated to the membership directly from Disney.

I will wait for further verification before considering this to be true.

Doc?

There is also a thread running on DVC Planning. Planning Thread It has more responses, and you may want to continue discussion there, as WMDoc has already replied to that thread. ;)

Not only was it not communicated to us members, I think they forgot to tell all their MS CM's. I called this morning shortly after 9 am to continue my day by day for OKW GV and was not informed of the new booking rule. Glad I checked the boards today and noticed the threads for the new booking rules, I just got of the phone with MS to get the rest of my mid May OKW ressies.

Not only has the booking changed, but so has the waitlist policy, which I found out this morning when I called to book my first reservations as a DVC member. Apparently, you can no longer be waitlisted at a DVC resort for non-consecutive days, which means you can no longer be put on a waitlist day-by-day, but have to waitlist for your entire stay.

It was sent out to CMs via their internal messaging system. The CMs should have all been aware of it when they logged onto their computers this morning...if they had read their messages.

Such a major change and the only communication is via internal e-mail, sounds like a major lack of internal communication. Something this major should have been verbalized in some kind of meeting to all MS CM's in my opinion. Just imagine if I had not logged onto dis boards today and waited until tomorrow morning to continue my day x day ressies for OKW GV to be told " We are sorry a booking change was made yesterday and all the OKW GV's are now booked". :headache: I don't see an icon that would represent the anger I think would erupt very quickly with the unfortunate CM would be subject to.

MS must not have known about it yesterday, because I called to check availability for AKV-SV 2 bedroom for a ressie I want to start changing tomorrow. The CM told me I should call day by day even though I had intended to call at check out day +7 months. Now it looks like she gave me bogus information and I can just call tomorrow and book the whole week at AKV. I wonder what happens if there is a night or two not available?

On dvcnews.com before it's even on dvcmembers.com. Un-freakin-believable! If it's true, it's time to fire the whole staff and start over again. I'm sick and tired of hearing things first off-Disney. This is unexcusable.

It's time to find some leadership for our company that cares about us. This is a bunch of crap. They should start at Jim (or whatever his name is) and start firing until they've alleviated the problems. 3-4 levels of management should get the word out nicely.

Don't we have a say? I ain't into photo-ops. My clients expect results and good communications. That's what I'm into.

That is a great question- I would be intested to know this.

This is very bad news, IMHO. It was a pain to do day by day, but now there is all kinds of different angles to abuse the system and makes preference to those staying 7 days versus someone who wants to only be there 4 days.

yes it is true, I called this morning to make reservations and the lady told me that they just got the emails this morning that we can reserve 11 mo in advance but can book the first day all the way to the last day of the trip. I did it . It is defininitely true. I just happened to call today! They told me that they are going to put it on dvc web site today. I was looking at the site and told her it is not there yet, she stated it will be. I made a reservation for May 20-27. definitely true!

I made a reservation today for may 20-27. I wanted 4 days in a studio and 3 days in a one bedroom. She allowed me to book the 7 days in the studio but would not allow me to book the first 4 dats in studio and the last 3 in one bedroom she stated these are separate reservations that I would have to call back on the 24th to change the last 3 days to the one bedroom. Yet , she stated the one bedrooms for the last 3 days were available.

Uhh, actually, no. We have no voting rights when it comes to DVC, unless we were to hold a very expensive vote, at our expense, to withdraw our individual resort from the DVC system. Other than that, we have assigned our voting rights to a single rep, selected by DVD. It is not an uncommon thing with timeshares, that the company wants to maintain control of the properties.

What is the DVC memebrs website address? What is needed to sigon fo rthe first time? I just joined today but have read where people can get access prior to getting their infromation in the mail.

Does this mean that my existing waitlist will be cancelled? I am wait listed for any studio for a Thurs in Dec (the Fri is booked at BWV)?

I would think some people would book a day or 2 earlier than when they really want to come, and later change their reservation.... and take those earlier days off. Not sure if that makes sense.

I only have 200 points, so I would not really have that flexibility.

I believe the article on DVCnews said that they were going to still honor the day by day waitlist requests, but as of today they would no longer take day by day waitlist requests.
