Huge hello from Kansas, I love you guys!!!

Hi, everyone!!!
I've been lurking (reading ) for quite some time now, and I have to say I absolutely love this board and the people on here, even though the one and only time I have been to Disney World was 10 years ago! Much has changed since then and we're finally venturing out there this july!!! I am excited beyond belief and decided to finally register
A bit about me--I live in the great state of Kansas (yes it a wonderful place), after being born in Russia (back then it was the USSR), spending my teenage years in Brooklyn, joining the army and winding up in MO, WA and Germany .
I am married to the most wonderful man in the world and we have two great kids, both boys, age 6 and 7. DH is currently in Iraq (3 time in the row, argh) and he will be coming home for R&R in July, so Disney World seemed like a perfect place to spend it at!!!

I used to live in Kansas too - Ft. Riley/Manhattan. I moved back to my home state of Ohio just a year ago.

Thank you everyone so much!
I would love to have stayed on-site, but my dad gave us his timeshare as a gift, so we will be staying there, it looks pretty nice (Vacation Villages at Parkway). I am still (comparatively) at the early stages of planning, and reading everyone's trip reports is a huge help! I will definitely post mine too.
There is something about Kansas for me that makes me feel like I am finally home. I love it. Although I do wish it was closer to things sometime too

Thanks everyone again and hello to fellow Kansans! We are in the JC area (our part is not officially in the town limits (yet !!!)) I hope everyone has a great trip as well, with the weather picking up quite fast here, looks like it won't be much of a climate change with FL
