We arrive at the Magic Kingdom around 5-ish and discover that oops, were hungry. So I walk into Tonys to see about their availability.
Were booked until Sunday, the CM tells me. Lady, were leaving on Sunday. What about the LTT? Thats gasp! booked for the evening too.
I do the Walk of Defeat back to Dan to tell him the news. But the news doesnt deter Dan at all; in fact, he has that sinister look in his eyes again. Do you want to eat at the Liberty Tree Tavern tonight?
Dan, no. We couldnt do that again!
Come on, it isnt hurting anyone. Its not like were eating for free and Disney isnt getting our money.
But I feel so guilty.
Guilt isnt much of a motivator (or de-motivator, in this case) for Dan. Once his mind is set, forget trying to talk him out of anything. Emotional tactics never work either. Hes a hard shell to crack at times.
So my guilty self stands outside in the sprinkly rain (sigh) and waits for the verdict. A few minutes later he comes out and says rather loudly, Were all set. He says this because he knows theyre listening inside.
I tell him hes bad, but Im hungry, so I follow him in and greet the friendly hostess who is waiting for us. It must have been early, because the restaurant looked pretty empty. The hostess seats us at a table for two. So far, Dan and I are the first ones in the section. I drop Mickey on the table next to my place setting. I tell Dan to order me some water and I sprint for the bathroom.
Now, any woman that has ever tried to use the restroom at the LTT knows this before I even type it. The ladies restroom has only three stalls. And early or not, considering the size of this restaurant and how long the average woman takes in a bathroom trip, calculated by the number of women already present, divide that by the number of sinks, factoring in whether there are paper towels or hand dryers
also figure in if children are present and need assistance
well, its all very scientific. Needless to say at this point (but Im going to anyway), I was gone for a bit.
During my absence, Dan gets a couple of visitors. The first one was Minnie. She pointed to the empty chair and Pal Mickey and shrugged as if to ask where I was. Dan says, My wifes in the restroom.
Minnie nods, waves her hand to tell him shell be back, and leaves the area.
Next, Pluto comes over. Dan says Hi Pluto and tells him that I have stepped away and will be back shortly. Pluto nods, turns to leave, and accidentally bumps my Pal Mickey off the table. Dan gasps and says, What did you do? You knocked over the BOSS!
Pluto freaks out. He immediately grabs my Pal Mickey from the floor, brushes him off to make sure hes clean, and gingerly puts him back on the table. Then he head-dives for the nearest booth, gets into a fetal position, and shakes as if hes about to be reprimanded. After a few minutes, Pluto realizes that no one is going to fire him, so he uncoils himself from the booth and tiptoes out of the area.
Minnie returns at this point. She again points to my empty chair. Dan says, Shes still in the bathroom
you know women.
Nice, isnt he? Im waiting in line upstairs, and this is the crap I get?
Well, this really offended Minnie. She put her hands on her hips and tapped her foot at Dan, who immediately blurted out an apology. She left in a huff. A few minutes later I finally return from my bathroom experience and Dan fills me in on everything I missed.
During the meal, the characters come out again. Minnie didnt want anything to do with Dan at first. But after he got on his knees and begged for her forgiveness, she warmed up to him considerably.
Minnie eventually forgave Dan. Even she recognizes that men don't get on their knees for us too often. Also for those of you who care, you will notice the absence of all things fanny pack.
When Pluto stopped by, he made extra-sure that he didnt knock over his boss again, and instead cradled him like a baby.
Pluto isn't making that mistake again. Easy does it, guy. That's the boss ya got there.
Our dinner at the LTT was fantastic again. We both highly enjoy the food here
in fact, Dan says it is his favorite meal at WDW now. The boy is so fickle.
After dinner, we tinkered around the park until it was time for Spectromagic. This parade was the reason we came to MK tonight. The last time I saw this one it was called the Main Street Electrical Parade and WDW only had two parks. So, I was pretty jazzed about seeing it.
Dan and I waited on the curb between Main Street and the castle. I have to say that neither of us were disappointed with the parade
it is just beautiful! But it is one of the longest parades Ive ever seen
it must have gone on for 25 minutes. So when it was finally over, it was time to check out a good spot to see Wishes. We walked over to the Tomorrowland Terrace and grabbed seats at the balcony. It ended up being a wonderful spot to see the fireworks (sitting down, no less! Yay!), and an even better place to watch Tinkerbelle, since she flies directly over our heads.
Even after Wishes, the park was still packed. We didnt need to take a vote
we were so done with this day.
I know, I know, the picture quality sucks. But this will give you an idea of how crazy-crowded these parks were during our visit.
