Hucifer and Dan's flipping huge trip report *Last 3 days/Epilogue! 10/9, pgs 36-38*

And then comes to a complete stop. Right in the middle of the track. All I know is that the only thing that could make this worse is if we started going backwards.

hmm, that reminds me...

So she slows the monorail down to a dead stop…right in front of the ball. What a beautiful shot! Screw the other folks that are on the monorail…Wendy and Dan, Copilots Extraordinaire are on board and demand the monorail stop so that we may take a picture. Snap snap, our photos are taken and we eventually grant the driver permission to continue.

karma? Or, as we say on the monorail loop -- what goes around comes around! ;)

Wow, how cool is this? We just got back from our 7 day trip and now I get to read the final installments of hucifer's trip report! You had me laughing out loud several times, and yes, telling Dan's "crash with the seque" story was worth it to this anonymous reader! :rotfl2: You are braver than I am for doing that tour, when I see seques I always wonder how the people even manage staying on them.

My DH even asked about you Wendy, while we were in the world...he wondered if we might see you and Dan there!

Where are you staying during your upcoming trip?

Thanks again for the memories and the laughs!

Whew, lots of great writing today. I only made it 1/2 way through this morning before I had to logoff :(--couldn't wait to come back & read more. I was wondering how the Roo pin thing was going, you seemed to stop mentioning it.

I just have to say I'm a little disappointed 1) You forget Pal in the a.m. ; 2) Dan drops Pal on his nose; & 3)You PRETENDED to give Pal a drink!?!?!? I mean really, what kind of people are you?!?!?!?!?

Can't wait for the rest of this report! Hope you have a fabulous trip!

hunnypotmama, Dan and I think it's pretty darn sweet that you and your DH were thinking about us on your WDW vacation! My mom, sis, and I are staying at the Caribbean and we arrive Oct 12 and come home Oct 18. I'll miss Dan like crazy, but I'm really looking forward to this trip! :)

WDW Poly Princess, thanks girl. Today is the day where it all ends. I'm glad you enjoyed the ride. ;)

stinkerbelle's mom, what can we say? It was a long, tiresome trip. But we had our fun, that's for sure! And thanks for the well-wishes. I always have a blast with my sister. She's a nut job.

On with the final segments...

Alarm buzzes at 7:30. Yeah, I know I complained the whole time about the crowds, the rain, and the waits. But there is still a certain sadness you feel when you’re leaving the World.

We walk down to the Garden Grill for breakfast. No scary Uncle Leo waitress today. But there are some scary-looking, boiled waffles on the buffet line. Honestly, does anyone think these look appetizing?

The Last Breakfast. Sad and disgusting at the same time, isn't it?

So we eat our mediocre buffet breakfast and head back upstairs. I have packing to finish, Dan has one last cigarette to burn. Off to the balcony he goes.

When he’s done and the air has cleared, I meet him out on the balcony.

Exhausted vacation or not, I'm going home and I'm not a happy camper.

He casually mentions that we have a good hour before our town car picks us up, and that maybe we could head to the MK for one last hoorah. I tell him that if we were staying at the Contemporary, I would so take him up on that. After all, my Annual Pass expires in five days.

One last candid shot on the balcony.

Then we chatted about the trip. It was fun reminiscing about our experiences being fake Cast Members, being fake reservation makers, and just being the silly couple that we are. I swear Dan and I could have fun at a lawyer’s convention. We also talked about the transportation at SoG…and that once you understand the schedule of their busses, it’s actually a better way to go sometimes. That, and making sure you carry the schedule around with you. Some of our favorite memories included: Dan offending Minnie at the LTT, being approached as CMs (of course), the KTTK and Segway tours, Blizzard Beach, Soarin’, being invited to sit in the front of the monorail, Dan letting the children stand in front for the MGM parade, MNSSHP, and that sweet little boy next to me who was frantically waiving at the villains during the parade. Priceless stuff.

It’s time to head to the lobby and wait for our car.

Can never have enough "I don't want to go home" shots.

See?

FL Tours comes on time and helps us with our bags and we step into the 52-degree refrigerator on wheels.

Disney World safely behind us, the No Swearing, No Crying rule is officially over. Now we can behave normally again.

FL Tours drops us off and we get to our gate. Since we have plenty of time still, I head toward the restroom for one last stop. On the way, I smile at people who make eye contact. Very few smile back. I feel like I just offended their mothers.

I get out of the stall and take the middle sink to wash my hands, but the automatic faucet doesn’t work. I step to the sink to the left and rinse my hands. A minute later, a woman stepped to the nonworking sink and stuck her hands under it.

“Oh, that sink doesn’t work,” I said cheerfully. “I just tried it.”

Without saying a word, looking up, or even acknowledging that I spoke at all, the woman stepped to the right and used another sink.

“You’re welcome and have a magical day,” I wanted to say. Just like Dorothy knew she wasn’t in Kansas anymore, this woman made it perfectly clear to me that WDW was far behind us.

Back at the terminal, I sat next to Dan and pouted. Going home from WDW sucks.

Then we spot a 40-something couple making serious goo-goo eyes at each other. They kissed and fondled each other in a PG-13 kind of way the entire time. Ugh, it was making us sick.

Then, the best surprise of the day…Dan got a first-class upgrade and gave it to me. What a sweetheart! We boarded the plane, I heading toward first class, Dan headed toward steerage. Once we landed, he tells me that the 40-something couple never stopped making out and eventually met each other in the rear restroom to join the Mile High Club. Ugh, that wasn’t worth knowing about.

Next and final installment: Epilogue

It has been a real pleasure reliving last year all year long with all of you. Your encouraging comments, your hilarious responses, and your very touching private messages have all kept me going.

Dan and I have had our share of ups and downs, I know that is inevitable for any marriage. But we are very lucky to have each other. We love many of the same things, we laugh at much of the same things, and we always know how to have a great time. Often at each other’s expense, but still.

This trip report did have its bittersweet moments. I guess that’s part of the downs that we have. But the fact that I am finishing this trip report so late also has its advantages.

On August 17, Dan and I saw a plus sign on our home pregnancy test. Believe me, this was completely unexpected. We went through a myriad of emotions that day: we hugged, we cried, we freaked out. After all these years, we are finally going to have our own child. It was a rough first trimester (the nausea never quit), and it often killed my enthusiasm to write. But knowing that the nausea, the tender this, the sore that, and all the other symptoms meant that our baby was developing and getting bigger and stronger made it all worth it.

I sit here, rubbing my growing belly, and am so thankful for everything that I have. We expect our amazing little package to arrive in April. Soon I will be big, uncomfortable, and doing the Pregnant Waddle. I can hardly wait to bring our little peanut to Disney World. In fact, I will be bringing our little peanut there in just a few short days, just as I enter my second trimester. And Disney World will have an entirely different meaning to me now.

I want to thank all of you for hanging in there, for reading and laughing and crying and enjoying this trip right along with me. I enjoyed this report better than the first one I wrote two years ago, even if it did take me a whole year to compose it. What a ride this has been!

Here’s to our little peanut, who is making our family whole, and for all the wonderful new memories we will have because of him/her, inside and out of Disney World!

See?

Well, THOSE are some priceless pictures! :lmao: Talk about pitiful. I know how you feel, though. Last time we left at 5:00 AM so I could kind of sleep through the pain.

What are boiled waffles? :confused3 I've never had one and don't think I want to try.
