HSBCdirect.com questions

First, is the proper web address http://www.hsbcdirect.com I'd hate to begin opening an account only to find out I'd reversed some letters and was on a rouge site.

I've seen this online bank mentioned here, but have only personally dealt with ING, which I LOVE. I was considering the othr because of the higher interest rate and wishing to do some aggressive, yet liquid, savings over the next year.

Any information is appreciated.

HSBC is a valid bank. It is very popular outside the US and is really based mostly in New York state, with a few branches in Florida and California. It is expanding from a brick and morter bank to the online world. You also can apply for the online savings account via the HSBC homepage on www.us.hsbc.com, then go under savings and online savings.
