We're driving home on our HS day (a Friday), so time is limited. We need to wrap things up by noon. We are 2 adults, 2 kids aged 7 and 4. This is what I'm thinking -

Leave our resort & park at the Boardwalk (can I park here for a half day??)
-7:30am Bon Voyage Breakfast
-walk over to HS - through the gates by 9:30?
-head back to Toy Story Land, wait in line for Alien Swirling Saucers
-FP for Slinky Dog (10:30??)
-Muppets 3D
-FP for new Disney Jr Dance Party

The only thing we're really missing out on (that we really want to do, that is) would be Toy Story Mania and maybe we'll have time to wait in line for it.

I know is hard to predict wait times until Toy Story Land is open, but this seems do-able, right?

Thanks so much!

When are you going? that will depend on when the park opens.

The walk to HS from the Boardwalk is about 20 minutes - 15 minutes if you are a fast walker. Also if the gates open at 9am then if you get there by 9:30am the line will probably be long for Alien Swirling Saucers.

Bon Voyage is a delicious breakfast place - but seeing the characters does take time. I would try to get to HS when the gates open. Otherwise I think you plan could work as long as everything else runs smoothly. But since you are driving - if it gets a little later you are okay. We don't spend that much time at HS these days.

Thank you! and good point, HS opens at 9am this day. I'm hoping we can arrive at the breakfast a bit early and get things rolling. I thought the walk was quicker - we've never done it before. I wonder if we're best to just drive over. Thanks again!

I think if you get to the restaurant a little early and just tell them you are trying to get out by 8:30-8:45 you will be fine. At Bon Voyage you order your meal, so make sure to order quickly. They bring the first course as family style and serve the rest. The food was delicious. We did the walk to HS and we are fast walkers and did it within 15 minutes.

I missed the parking thing. If you are not staying at the Boardwalk - you cannot park there other than to eat. They are really strict there. I would drive to HS no matter what since you can't leave your car there.

Enjoy!

Thank you! I thought I'd heard that somewhere about the Boardwalk parking. We've parked there before, but maybe for 2 hours max. Sounds like driving will be best for us. I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed the Bon Voyage breakfast - we're excited for it! Thanks again :)

We stayed at the BW last year and had issues parking there while we were staying there. I have read that they did get very strict. Enjoy!

I think what you describe is pretty tight. I would try to book a breakfast pre- park opening at Hollywood and Vine. Then, you can rope drop TSMM and probably fit in the rest of what you describe. When are you going? FP times are hard to come by for TSL. You might not get exactly the time you hope for, so I would be prepared to be flexible. If you really want Bon Voyage, I would book it for a late breakfast, and do the park first.

My only concern is that you are hoping to ride one of the new rides and potentially arriving late to the park. I agree either trying to move you breakfast earlier or move to an early on at HS. Either way, to may your plan work, you need to be at the park before rope drop. As TSL isn't open yet, nobody knows what the wait times will be. Pandora lines 30 minutes after RD are 90 minutes plus. Will TSL be the same way? Time will tell.

Thanks so much for the feedback. I can't get a HS reservation earlier than 8:30am right now :/ But maybe I'll keep looking and leave it up to fate. You're right - we don't know how it'll go with TSL yet. Our trip is in the Fall, so It'll have been open for a month and a bit before I need to make FPs, so I have a bit of time to figure things out. Thanks again!

IMO, you are sacrificing a lot for your breakfast. If it were my family (which I realize you may have different priorities), I would rope drop HS (arrive by 8 am) to ensure you would be able to ride most of what you want to ride. Then you could make lunch reservations somewhere fun, so that you are sitting in a restaurant when the lines are long as opposed to sitting there when the lines are short. Have a great trip!

I agree. I feel like you can do breakfast OR everything on your DHS wishlist— but not both. If you want to do the new stuff in Toy Story Land, I think you’ll have to RD the park (this usually means being there in line well before the park opens). Three major rides in 3 hours (9-12) is about what you can do. If you have the dining plan and need to use a credit, I’d try to do so some other time on the trip. Otherwise, I’d just plan a QS lunch at DHS before headin* home. Good luck.

Thanks guys! I think based on everyone's feedback, we're going to skip the breakfast...if my kids will agree to miss meeting Price Eric and Flynn Rider lol. Thanks so much!

Just one more word of warning - from personal experience! A few years ago we arrived at AK about 25 minutes ahead of rope drop and there were so many people in front of us that we didn't get to do what we had wanted to get there early to do. When we went last month we took an uber and made it to HS at 7:50 for 9 a.m. rope drop. My family thought I was crazy, but we were at the very front of the line to get in - right at the magic band entry - and were able to stay at the head of the pack and walk right on to TSM. We even ended up getting chosen as family of the day! Anyway, have a magical trip!
