HS with Toddlers

I've been getting our plans for each park together and I haven't seen much to do at HS with toddlers(barely 3 and barely 4 when we go). I saw the Muppets 3-D but I don't think they would do well with things touching them that they can't see. What is there besides Toy Store Mania that they can do?

DHS is a 1/2 day park for us. That being said, we take our littles (5 & 2) there and we can ride Toy Story Mania as a family. We use Rider Swap to take our oldest on ToT & Star Tours. My daughter loves Frozen so the sing A Long is a must. My son is a big Mickey/ Doc fan so we do the Dis Jr. show too.

Voyage of the Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast Stage Show, Disney Jr, Disney Jr Meet & Greets, Toy Story Mania, Toy Story Meet & Greet, Frozen Sing Along, Olaf Meet & Greet

We'll be there with our 2 and 4 year olds. We're doing toy story mania, little mermaid, beauty and the beast, Disney jr, muppets and frozen sing a long

FWIW, we skipped HS with our toddler. Figured we'd take her there when she's a little older and can do/engage with more. BUT mine is younger than yours are, so might be a different allure for you guys.

Not sure if you have girls or boys, but my boys loved watching the Indiana Jones Stunt show, Star Wars show, watch others in Jedi Academy, Great Movie Ride (they were not phased by this ride), Toy Story Mania, Frozen Sing-A-Long (one set of the storytellers are hilarious and they change up the jokes so often they crack each other up), Muppets, and Disney Jr. They also liked meeting the characters - Buzz/Woody, Mickey/Minnie, Star Wars, Disney Jr, etc. Because of the timing of the shows, it takes longer than you think to get everything done. We took our boys to eat at the Brown Derby and the wait staff was amazing with them (even when my 18 mth old drew on the white tablecloth with crayon as I was trying to get the crayon out of his hand). I miss the play ground because that was an excellent place to let them get out the energy in between the shows (i.e. sitting still).

OH no! I didn't know they took the playground out. :( I was hoping to get to play there with my 3 yr old while DH took my 6 yr old on Star Tours. : /

This situation is why the new Toy Story Land is a great idea and desperately needed, even if it's not bringing more E-tickets to the park.

While there are things to do there for toddlers, the amount of toddler-friendly activities pales in comparison to MK. If your looking to get your value out of the ticket price, spending another day at MK may be best. If your wanting to visit all the parks, then you can definitely find shows, characters, etc that will appeal to a toddler.

Edit to add: My kids are 5 and 4. When asked on our last couple days where they wanted to go spend time, HS never came up. It was MK hands down!

I've taken my son to DHS every trip, but only once for a full day. It actually has a lot for Toddlers. The park simply is just low on attractions period, but about half of them are toddler-appropriate.

2yo - we hopped there just to see the Frozen Sing Along (he loved the music) and just to take his picture on the Speeder Bike while my wife and I went on Star Tours.

3yo - Full day at DHS - Disney Junior Live! Toy Story Midway Mania (he could have rode that several times), Muppets 3D, Little Mermaid, Frozen Sing Along, Frozen parade (not there now), make a Lightsaber at Tatooine Traders, Honey I Shrunk the Playground (now gone), Disney Junior Character meal (and meet and greets). He enjoyed eating at Pizza Planet (he was big into Toy Story at the time). He opted out of Fantasmic because he thought it may be too loud and scary. His 4yo cousin even got a Elsa/Anna makeover since it was the "Frozen Summer Fun" summer.

4yo - Half day at DHS -- Star Wars focused. Star Tours (a little scary for him), Toy Story, Star Wars Launch Bay, see the Star Wars Galaxy Far Far Away show, watch the march of the Fist Order parade, make a Droid at Tatooine Traders. We left at lunch and hopped to MK.

Basically because "I" love DHS we go there. There are things we even wanted to do but we just didn't have time: eating at Sci-Fi Drive In, Indiana Jones and Beauty and the Beast. Like others have said. Because of all the timing of the shows, it really is hard to fit a lot in.

We've opted out of Great Movie Ride simply because we think the Alien scene may be too scary and the line is usually long and we use our Fast Pass on the superior Toy Story.

Personally I think it is worth some time there with a Toddler because of:
Disney Junior Live!
Toy Story Midway Mania
Little Mermaid show
And the wide variety of Meet and Greets (Disney Junior, Buzz/Woody, Olaf, Mickey, Minnie, all the star Wars characters). My son is not into M&Gs (too scary), but he enjoys looking at them from afar.

And because the park is PHYSICALLY small right now and there is no reason to walk down Sunset Avenue (Tower of Terror/Rock n Roller Coaster) .. the amount of walking you do is practically nothing.

We did the Disney Jr lunch at Hollywood & Vine last trip and my 2-year-old had the BEST time.

Other things we've done there with toddlers: Disney Jr Live, Frozen Sing-a-Long, character meet & greets, Toy Story Mania, Great Movie Ride. We also saw Fantasmic! when my younger was 16 months, and Frozen fireworks when she was 2; she wasn't phased by either.

Mine were 4 when I took them for the first time and they loved it.
We did the Disney Junior Show, Ariel Show, Toy Story Mania, Muppets 3D, Frozen sing a Long and Star Tours. After that they were exhausted and we spent the rest of the day at the pool

Id also like to throw in that Muppets 3-D doesn't have anything that touches you like A Bug's Life at AK does. Its a 3-D show with puppets, so they may like it after all.
