I'm trying to map out our HS day for our August trip. Going on a Sun, Aug 23 and it's a green day for HS. Park closes at 8:30 pm. I'd like to do Animation Academy and the Sorcerer Mickey M&G in the early evening before Fantasmic.

The plan is to return to HS after a pool break at 5pm
See Beauty and the Beast 5:30 show. Maybe grab food from CS nearby and eat while waiting for show?
Head to Animation Academy after BNTB around 6:15. Drawing class at 6:30 then meet Sorcerer Mickey
Head Fantasmic around 7:45 (we will have done the Fantasmic MM package for lunch)

Does the Animation Academy have 6:30 or 7pm classes when park closes at 8:30? Is the M&G for Sorcerer Mickey a more reasonable wait at 7pm and does he even meet that late? Trying to work out a day that includes JTA. Or would it be better to ask for a JTA in the evening (7:10) and hit Sorcerer Mickey/Animation Academy right after we sign up for JTA at RD? Seems like a lot of line waiting that early which is why I'd prefer the evening AA/Mickey option. This a tricky schedule to plan! TIA!

I don't know about JTA, but Animation Academy is getting more popular. You will often have to wait a cycle to get in a class (so an extra half hour).

I think you are overly optimistic about being able to enter the park, get to the CS restaurant, order, eat your food, and then get to your seats for BATB in half an hour. Most CS restaurants can't package food "to go".
