Going 2nd to last week in August. HS has EMH on Sunday morning (which we would make) so I'm thinking of going that day, but will Sunday be a big day for locals trying to do the new TSL? I know conventional wisdom says stay away from EMH, but we'd be taking an afternoon break and come back around 5 for evening show

I think it may be though to fully plan HS this summer until TSL opens and we see what kind of hours / EMHs they put in place. With Pandora last summer they really loaded up AK with longer hours and EMHs. I suspect you will see the same with HS/TSL, but unfortunately we’ll have to wait and see for sure.

Although, until initial popularity dies down (which will likely take a long time), it is likely going to be non-stop busy ALL the time, EMHs, weekends, or not.

I’d probably plan to join the masses and have fun! :-)

Toy Story will be slammed regardless. Adding an emh will increase the crowds. If you plan to get to the park 30-60 min prior to emh starting, then you'll be good.

An afternoon break will be good as well. I always recommend if you're doing emh to do it with park hoppers so you can head to another park afterwards when the crowds at the emh park are just too much
