I have been a lurker on her for quite some time and I have taken the plunge to post a question...
First of all I want to thank everyone for sharing information about Disney...you have been so helpful with tip, suggestions etc! I am truly grateful!

So onto the fun stuff...we are heading to Disney Nov 14-21 and staying off property. I have ADR's for CRT and Chef Mickey. We are going to HS one day and do have a lunch time ressie for Hollywood & Vine...I am looking for some opinions if this is worth it, which characters are there, food? My DD will be 3 and half years old so she is into the Playhouse Disney characters.

Any info or suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks
Melissa

My DD was also 3 when we first did this meal. She still loves it at almost 6 after 4x. They have the little einstens, JoJo and Golieth. It is very interactive with singing and dancing with the characters (for the kids), We are going again next month and she doesn't even watch these shows anymore but she wants to go, the food is your average Disney Buffet, nothing to write home about but good. Have a great time!

I would say nay. There are much better character breakfast options like 'ohana, norway in EPCOT, chef mickeys, crystal palace just to name a few

Welcome to the DIS!

H&V used to be pretty good but now most of what I hear is negative things about the food. It's odd particularly because from what I understand they share a kitchen with the 50's Primetime Cafe which seems to get mostly good reviews. How can one be good and one bad if the same people are preparing the food? We haven't been to H&V in a long time though so it's hard to comment.

They do have unique characters though and DHS isn't exactly a great place to dine so you might want to hang onto them. I usually find something edible on any buffet. :)

We haven't been to the character lunch since DD was way beyond Playhouse Disney by the time it started. But we've had dinner there and thought it was decent. Standard Disney buffet food - as someone else said, nothing to write home about but good.

OP is looking for a Lunch ADR in DHS. CRT and Chef Mickey's are booked other days.

I say absolutely go for it. Your DD is the perfect age and the food will be fine. The salmon tends to be popular it is also served at dinner and I really enjoyed it. This meal will mostly be about the character interaction, not the food. Reviews for this meal indicate it is tailored for kids your daughter's age. Have a great time!

This was one of the best character meals we did. In fact my kids thought it was so good that my youngest dd has requested this for her 5th birthday celebration. She was 3 on our last visit. They loved being able to get up and dance with the characters. There was no where else that we went that they could do this. And of course at 3 years old, Playhouse Disney was their favourite.

we did the H&V buffet on our last two trips w/friends and both times it was voted "best meal of the trip" by the group... and we had a lot of good meals (including le cellier and teppan edo)... plus you have the added bonus of your dd being the perfect age for Playhouse Disney characters... sounds like a win/win to me! ENJOY!
