HS: Fantasmic package vs. FastPass?

I am really torn. We are going to be at HS in May on a Friday for Star Wars Weekend - I know it will be a ZOO, but with 8 & 10 yr old sons, I sorta have to LOL!

I am very excited about both SciFi (have lunch ADR) and 50s Prime Time (have dinner ADR) (I don't understand why neither offers the Fantasmic package!). But I also don't want to wait FOR-ever with exhausted tweens in line just to get bad seats. We actually do have an ADR for Mama Melrose at this time, but I want to cancel one dinner res soon. The thought of eating Italian food instead just doesn't excite me, since we can get that whenever we want, but 50s PT is unique.

Do I spend a FP+ on Fantasmic so we can eat where we want? Or hit the Tune-In Lounge for a mid-afternoon break (though I'm sure it will be packed all day) and just eat at Mama Melrose?

I'd rather use a FP for Toy Story, but maybe we could just go there first thing?:confused3

Help! Thanks!

The F! dining package has reserved seating in the center of the theater. The F! FP+ does not have reserved seating, so it is a waste of a FP+, imo.

Just so you know, an ADR at MM does not automatically get you the pass to F!. You have to specifically book the dining package.

I was afraid that might be the case re: FP+ seating. I do have an ADR for the MM package, thanks. So do you think it's worth it?

Does anyone know just how early we'd have to get in line for the 9pm Fantasmic on the Friday of a Star Wars Weekend? Eek.

Bumping this thread because I have the same question. I understand that the FP+ now has reserved seating at F!, so what is better in the case now. I currently have a H & V F!DP, but I'm wondering that if I can get a FP+, would it be about the same as having the VIP seating for F!?

I am in this same dilemma, Is it possible to get Fantasmic as a 4th fast pass, has anyone used all 3 and then got Fantasmic fast pass at a kiosk while you were there?
