Hi everyone,

I'm just planning ahead for our trip to Florida for next year (could even be 2010  ). We are a family of 5. We want to stay at the Hard Rock Hotel for 4 nights. :yay: We were there in 2005 and loved it! Which type of room do I need to book so our DD has a bed - my two boys will share a double so I need a pull out of some kind for our daughter who will be 5 then. I don't recall a pull out being in the standard room we had.

Thanks a million

The deluxe rooms have a pull out. If you are a Loews member gold you will be upgraded to one for free! That's what is happening to me for our trip this year. I booked a standard and got upgraded to a deluxe. HTH:thumbsup2

Even the standard "garden view" rooms sleep 5. You can request a roll-away bed for $25/night extra: then you would have two queens and a roll-away for DD. The roll-aways are actually very comfy and much like "real" single beds - very sturdy and big, comfy matresses.

If you wanted more space, you'd want to go for a deluxe room which has the two queens plus a pull-out sofa bed.

I have been upgraded to a suite, which is even bigger than a delux room. I am a platinum member.

The king suites only sleep 3.

OP, get a deluxe queen room! the extra room would be worth it with 5 people. :)

Thanks a million for the replies! :flower3:

I didn't know I could request a roll-away - that's great to know thanks! If the deluxe room isn't available with an AP discount, I might just book the standard room and ask for that. Though the extra space sounds fantastic! At least I have options, that's terrific. :thumbsup2

By the way, I'm a Loews Blue member (or whatever the basic one is) - what are the chances of being upgraded with that?

I think if you check in real early and there is availability you could get an upgrade, and it would also depend on the time of year you are going. But you would only be upgraded to a different view-type of room, meaning, garden view to pool view, like that. I don't think you would be upgraded to a deluxe room under any normal circumstances but you could always ask! HTH:thumbsup2

There is four of us, you get a double bed and a pull out sofa, ideal for two adults and two kids. This is how it worked last time for us.

From the loews hotels site "KING SUITE King Bedroom 650 Sq Ft Suite with bedroom plus large Living Room Sleeps up to 3 "

did you get 4 room keys? Not trying to argue, just wondering. DH and I don't have kids, so staying in the king suite really isn't an issue for us. lol. However, I DO know that they will not let you have more than 2 dogs registered to your room (any room). We have 3, so they get to stay with grandma and grandpa while we go play. :upsidedow

No, we just were given two room keys, my kids were too young.

This time they originally booked us into a delux room as part of my platinum upgrade, I rang them and reminded them that I am entitled to a suite as an upgrade if available, so now I have my suite at a rate of $183 per night....

Does the hotel know you have four people? I've never heard them allowing four people in a king suite before. You should check just to make sure there isn't going to be an issue with room keys.

Could your 3 dogs not share 2 room keys? Must they insist on having one each? :lmao: ;)

LOL. Actually they would probably be happier with one room key, that way they could fight over it. I once tried to give each girl the exact same toy so that everyone would be happy, guess what? It seems that I had given one of them the "special one" and so the two "crappy toys" were tossed aside and the special one was fought over until the poor toy had been torn to shreds.

That's good. Make sure you've got the person's name who told you it is okay.

::yes::

Kevin, we arent trying to be control freaks with your resservation! Its just that there have been people who were told one thing on the phone and then got to the hotel and it was totally different. These people had to change rooms and pay RACK RATE> :scared1: .

I have personally had a little glitch happen over at Disney, they couldnt find my (concierge full package) reservation anywhere. If I had not had everything printed out and had it with me, they wouldnt have even let me stay at the AKL. They were over booked. My only saving grace was my printed out "proof". And then of course, it was "here are your room keys, and have a magical day Mrs. DF." :rotfl:

LOL - I took the precaution of asking for a copy of the reservation at time of booking, which I have, I'm too streetwise not to have thought of that !!

To be fair, our little boy is very small and is unwell and will be in with us, so my daughter will have the sofa bed, so really we are just using three sleeping spaces.
