HRH - Room Rate !!!

I am wanting to book a room at the Hard Rock Hotel for 1 night on the day after my wedding - 9th May.

Expedia are quoting £130.00 for a gaden view room inclusive of all taxes and service charges.

Just wondered if anyone knows of a better deal !

The rack rate for May is $229 before tax, and the lowest Entertainment rate for May (generally considered to be as cheap as it gets) seems to be $125, again before tax.

Go over to the Universal Forums for info on all the USF resorts and rates.

To get the Entertainment rate you need to buy an Entertainment book for Orlando which comes with a plastic membership card. You don't need to have it to book, but, in theory at least, you will be asked to produce it when you check in. The Entertainment Rate is not available for all dates - there were none available when I tried to book PBH for example, although I did manage to get an AP discounted rate. The same thing happened last year when I booked HRH. The Entertainment rate always seems to be cheaper than any other rate.

I would suggest phoning USF and asking for availability at the Entertainment rate for the night of your stay. There was a thread on the USF forums recently which suggested that you should ask for the Entertainment rate for one date at a time. Apparently if you try to book for a period and one of the dates does not have any discounted availability, it will show on their system as no availability for the duration. Another tip if the Entertainment rate isn't available is to book at the cheapest rate available and then to keep phoning back. Apparently rates can suddenly become available - it all depends on occupancy levels.
