We were there for one night in December and upon check-in we were informed we were going to be upgraded to Club Level! I was so pleased since I had just spent a small fortune for 5 nights at Disney's Poly resort Concierge!

Upon checking in I realized how upset I would have been to have paid full price for the Club Level. The lounge itself was great, employees were great but the room..YUCK! We were at the end of one of the halls and it smelled musty. The room was very worn and in need of some cleaning. Dirty carpet, sitting chair with a hole in the arm of it and stained fabric. And the housekeeping staff was SO LOUD in the hall at 9:00 at night that I thought a fight or something was going on out there.

We loved the walking distance to the parks and the Hotel lobby was beautiful and the pool. But, the rooms and hallways are kinda nasty looking. Maybe the other floors look better, I hope. Or maybe the HRH just needs a good dusting!

Don't get me wrong..we were very excited about being upgraded and we would probably stay there again but I was just wondering if I'm the only one to notice this?

When I went, the rooms i stayed in were very nice. I had deluxe rooms but not on club level. I wonder if they gave you the free upgrade because they knew they coudnt charge full club level price because of the condition of the room? A free upgrade to club is very rare, thats why i was wondering. Since the club lounge was nice, did you think it was okay at the price that you paid?

Oh Yes, the food offerings, the beer and wine were all excellent. Nice guests to mingle with. I paid $187 for my room (AAA discount). I know that's a good price and unheard of for Club Level, but, you could be right. I may have been upgraded because the condition of that floor is a bit gross! Even the front desk clerk was shocked when she saw we were upgraded. The first thing my Hubby said when we were walking down the hall was "no wonder they upgraded us...it smells like a swamp down here!" But, I would take a spanking clean room over a dingy Club Level room ANYDAY.

In July 2001 we had ressies for a poolview at HRH. We got to the front gate and the man said we were not on the list. I showed him our confirmation and he told us to go ahead and park. At the front desk, the man told us he was not showing a room in our name. I showed him the confirmation and he told us to wait a minute. I was starting to get really angry because I just knew they were gonna send us to some crap hotel in town. he then told us they had a room for us on club level. I admit, I was excited about that, but the minute I opened the curtains to the window and saw the driveway to the hotel and roof/cover to valet below us, I was instantly disappointed. I know I got a bargain by being on club, but I specifically reserved a poolview room because we had never gotten one before. Then, after seeing the pathetic offerings in the lounge, I wondered what the hype about club level was.

We were upgraded to Club from a pool view (just myself and 2 youngest kids that trip) and had the room overlooking the Hotel entrance. I thought it was great, how often did I look out the window anyway since there are no balconies. The lounge was just OK and the food was nothing amazing but it was very convenient for kids (they got it and brought it back to the room to eat) instead of waiting for a more expensive table service breakfast and I'm sure it saved me money. I was annoyed by some of the people who were grabbing the food and drinks as if they were going to disappear.

It was a few years ago of course, but our room at HRH was beautiful. Do they still use the all white bedding?

It was all white last time I went, and double sheeting. I liked it so much I do the double sheeting at home now.

We were club level last weekend...We were in room 7041. We had requested an upgrade to deluxe and we were fortunate to get it. We have had this room before and its only one hallway from the elevator/lounge. The room was fine. We did have a problem with the toilet backing up. I called star services, went down to the lounge for coffee, came back and it was already taken care of. No complaints here!!

While getting my coffee Monday am, ran into Dee Snider from Twisted Sister who was also getting coffee and stuff....I just nodded and said hi, I figured why bother the guy while he's getting his breakfast. When I told my husband and kids who was down in the club lounge, they just laughed and thought I was imagining things. Then when we were heading to the park, we were on the elevator with him and his family. Kind of a cool way to end the weekend!!

Great stories. I can't prove it, but I think the HRH is ragged out because guests extend their check out past 2pm, and then the cleaning staff has no time to get the rooms ready. That's why some people don't get a room until 6pm.
And that floor has stars who act like pigs because they think it's cool to trash a hotel room. I'm sure there are some nice pop stars who are clean, but still.
The A-listers tip the staff, and they get used to it. That's why the hotel has a "snooty" attitude towards regular guests.
The lounge and people who are greedy and show up in pajamas, yes, that's a bummer. Seems to be happening less since people are talking about it on these forums.
I went two years ago knowing all these things, our room was great, and we had a great time with our yellow lab on the 5th floor.

But everything mentioned here is a reason why many are trying the RPR.

We requested (and were granted 2pm check out). That was a goof up on my part, we had to rush back to the hotel to pack everything up. If we had done it in the am we would have had more time in the parks. I didnt think that you could go past the 2pm time without being charged for an extra day.

We had that same room over a year ago and had toilet problems almost the entire stay. HMMMMM........

pathubia - glad to hear you got a deluxe room. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for one. So does Dee Snider look the same as he did in the 80's? Don't they have Twisted Sister memorabilia shown somewhere at Hard Rock?

Robvia mentions pajamas. My kids like to change into their lounge pants (spongebob) in the evening and sit in the club room while we play cards or watch a movie. Is this a no-no? Compared to some other sites we see, I didn't think they looked so bad, but now you got me curious.

From reports I have read...

Not so bad in the evening.

But in the morning, people show up in pajamas, take (steal) all the food back to their rooms, and leave nothing for other guests.

The food is not replaced, and people showing up afterwards have nothing.

Maybe the HRH should replace the food more often. I've been at other hotels, and there is usually a person watching the breakfast area, cleaning up, and replacing food as it is taken.

But still, there have been many a joke thread about people showing up in pajamas "stealing" food and going back to their rooms.

Don't do it. Show up in your park cloths. Dress up for the club lounge.

Spread the word. Everyone will benefit if the word gets out.

It's just like late check out. Yes, you are allowed to do it, but if people over do it, then rooms are not ready until 6pm.

Check out on time and everyone benefits. I know this sounds hard to believe, but someone else is going to be in your room when you leave. So check out on time so the staff can clean the room good.

I am an early riser and the kids arent, I get up and get them a couple of donuts and muffins and bring them back to the room. Hope thats not considered stealing!! I always get dressed. Once my sister was heading down to the lounge without shoes on and I made her go back to the room and get fully dressed.

At night and in the early am there were kids in their jammies, I dont see anything wrong with that.

Most foods were replaced, bagels, muffins, fruit, I noticed that once the donuts were gone, they werent replaced.

There are a few pix of Dee Snider on the 1st floor by the pay phones.

Dee Snider does still look the same, except his hair isnt so wild, it was pulled back in a nice neat ponytail with a baseball cap.

This was our 2nd stay in 7041, it was the 1st time we had toilet problems. They took care of the problem in record time. (actually my husband said, call and see if they will send up a plunger, in case it happens again, but it didnt.)

I was surpised that there were dogs on the 7th floor, I never noticed them up there before. (they were never in the lounge) I was heartbroken that we left our new dog at home, next time we may bring her with us.

He must like the HRH. We saw him a couple of times last September/October.

This photo was taken whilst he was filming "Let's Cook" around the pool.

Out of curiosity, do you recognise the guy in the orange shirt? He seemed to be the presenter of the cooking show. Being a Brit, I wouldn't know if he was famous or not?

Pauldents,
I remember seeing that picture when you posted it before!! I asked at the club lounge and they said he stays there once and a while. Thanks for posting the picture again. I dont regognize the man in the orange, but he does look like he is having fun!!
