We are a family of 5 (3 kids ages 6, 11 and 14) going to stay at one of the Universal hotels for five nights.
We stayed at the HRH Club room a few years back with the kids for 3 nights and enjoyed the breakfast, grabbing waters etc.. and the nightly treat. We did not make it back for the two hour nightly hot and cold hordorves or free drinks that the club level offered. We stayed at the parks during that time.
So, my question is...we like and need the space approx. 500sf for the deluxe room at the HRH and 490sf for the club room in the PB which has a pullout couch? The cost is about $20 bucks more a night for the club room at the PB, which seems worth it as compared to the deluxe at the HRH.
We did love the Hard Rock and would stay there again. BUT the HRH club level does not offer the deluxe rooms (I called and talked to someone at the reservation line)
We could reserve a basic room at the PB for about $81/night less than their club and maybe get a cheaper club upgrade when we get there?
Any suggestions?

I just got off the phone with HRH and they basically said I could book club and request dx, but obviouslly no guarantee. But, with PBH I could book club & then know I'll have the dx room/space. I guess it comes down to what's more important...space or convenience???:confused3

We just returned from HRH, and requested a deluxe queen on club level but there were none available. I had even called ahead and the day before and was told that only 1 was available at that time, but they could not hold for us. We also needed the extra space, so we kept the deluxe queen room. While the extra space was nice, the pull out sofa bed was terrible, and my son, who is not really a complainer, was not comfortable. If I were to do it again, we would go for the regular room on the club floor and just get a cot for the 5th person. We loved the resort by the way.
