Hi all,
I am thrilled to be planning our first trip to Universal at the beginning of September. We would like to stay in the HRH for two nights. It would be two adults and 3 school aged kids. Since we don't plan on being in the room much at all, we would like to save a few dollars and get a standard room, rather than the deluxe with the extra pull out coach. My son is fine with sleeping on the floor, on the folded up bedspreads or something.
For the standard room, the website says something like "sleeps 5, but rollaway required for 5th person". Do they really mean REQUIRED, in that we would have to pay $25 for the rollaway? My concern is whether or not they will give us our 5 (not 4) room keys to use Universal Express if we don't rent the rollaway. If they are going to make us pay for to use a rollaway, then I would rather pay for the deluxe room.

Anyone else gotten the standard room for 5, but not rented the rollaway? Any problem getting your 5 keys?

I'm also concerned b/c the Unofficial Guide says HRH romm is max capacity of 4!
Thanks for your help. These boards are fabulous.

Jill,

You can have up to 5 people in a room. We have 3 kids too, so we usually just bring an air mattress for our youngest to sleep on and then during the day just pick it up and lean it against the wall. All 5 people in the room will receive their own room key so a roll-away is not required.

Great idea! A blow up mattress of some sort actually sounds less cumbersome than a rollaway. They take up so much room. Glad to hear there shouldn't be any problems getting the 5 room keys.
The larger room looks lovely, but I hate to pay for it when we plan on spending all our time at the parks, restaurants, or pools!

Our 5 will be there in March! Air mattress is a great idea!

We have an aero bed twin mattress and it is great. It inflates in a matter of minutes. It has a cloth top so the person sleeping on it doesn't slide around and off of it.

No problem with the room keys, you'll get 5.

The PBH has larger rooms, and the bathroom is huge. So big one of the kids could sleep in it if they wanted, although there is plenty of space next to the bed.

The HRH is closer to the parks, and has the "hip" pool, so the kids would probably like staying there. Either one will work out great.
