Dear Max,

I got your last letter. It's awesome that you beat Hufflepuff and Slytherin. The two houses I don't want to be in! I mean, I know Cedric was in Hufflepuff, but I mean, It's Hufflepuff! I'd much rather be in Gryffindor or with you in Ravenclaw. It can't be that hard to get into those houses. I mean, you got what you wanted. So I think I should be able to get one of those houses. Dad doesn't exactly believe in this though.

Speaking of Dad, Dad has a girlfriend! I know, it's so weird. He's been a lot looser, but I don't know how long it's going to last. He blew up when he got your report card, even with the letter you sent. But he can't really do anything about it, so he's kinda bitter because he knows Mom could do it because she's the witch. But then, Mom's dead, so.......

Anyway, Dad's girlfriend's name is Katrina. Katrina's a witch too, so it's very strange. She's got a girl my age named Brooklyn, but I don't like her. She's such a know it all and she acts like she knows everything. She corrects me all the time and tries to pretend she knows exactly which house she'll be in. Worse, it's Gryffindor, one of the houses I want to be in. Ha! She's a Slytherin through and through. Katrina's nice and all, but if I have to spend all the time with Brooklyn, then I hope Dad breaks up with her. Ugh, it was so much better when you were home. I know you'll be back for Christmas, but I don't think you'll be back in time to convince Dad not to invite them over for the entire break!

My birthday is coming up quick. Brooklyn's birthday is in the spring, so ha, I'll be eleven before her! Anyway, I hope you'll send me a whole lot of wizard candy and maybe some cool magical item. I'll be sure to send you something cool for your birthday. One day I'll just walk over to Diagon Alley with Dad(and not with Katrina or Brooklyn) and we'll get you a present. Say, is all your Quidditch gear still working? Is there a cool new broomstick out thaat's faster than your Firebolt? Seeing as you're a Chaser you'd need one that was faster. Then you can score goals twice as fast!

Charlotte went back home for a while because a family member (grandmother maybe) was in St. Mungo's. While she was home she found out a lot of stuff (or at leat a lot of rumors) about Voldemort and the DE. The family member either got out of St. Mungo's or died, and now Charlotte is back at Hogwarts.

Max: Hmm, what else is new? We found out yesterday or the day before that Adam is a visionary. He has visions. One of the ones he had yesterday made Mel ground me. She almost didn't let me go home for Christmas! And now I can't go anywhere alone, not including classes.
