OOC: I was thinking that and maybe an object (for emergencys only)

OOC: lol I decided to write some because I think it could be awesome...I only made it so far as the Hogwarts Express taking off because I wanted to introduce everyone...let me know if this is ok or not...

They were all arriving at King’s Cross Station. Friends who knew each other. Friends who were destined to become such. They were all arriving.

A small girl with dark, curly hair said a stiff goodbye to her father, a muggle. He reminded her that she had to do her best. What he really meant was she had to be the best. But she understood that fully. And Maxine Stone had the sincerest intentions to make him proud.

Another Ravenclaw, a prefect, was helping younger children on to the train. Emilia Winterstale was an energetic redhead, who had spent most of her summer with her boyfriend, Ron Weasley. He was with her now, wandering the rapidly filling Hogwarts Express corridors. Soon joining Emilia was Quinn, another fifth-year Ravenclaw who was one of her best friends. She was quiet as a mouse, and had the tendency to sneak up on people, even without meaning to.

Hermione Granger had also reached the train. Her best friends were Ron and Harry Potter, but she didn’t know Emilia very well. She found an empty compartment and settled in, reaching for a book. But she was too excited to read, something that didn’t happen very often. She told herself it was because she was going back to Hogwarts, but a voice in the back of her head told her the real reason: she would get to see Ron very soon.

Adam Gracey hugged his mother and stepped on to the train. He found a compartment and was soon joined by his fellow third years Charlotte, a Hufflepuff, and Isabella, a Ravenclaw. They said their hellos and settled in for the long ride. They made sure to leave a space open for their friend William, who still hadn’t arrived.

Melody Williams, another prefect fifth-year Ravenclaw, hugged her family good-bye. As they were all Muggles, they didn’t feel comfortable running through the barrier. She gathered her things and stepped on to the platform. She hurried to the train, she had been paranoid all morning that she would miss it. Rushing to the prefect compartment to check in, she began to wander the train, scolding misbehaving students here and there.

A Gryffindor fifth year, Jo-Lein, stepped on to the train a bit later, carrying her cat. She was content to sit with her things in a lone compartment. The train whistle blew, warning five minutes until departure. Everyone sat down in their compartment of choice, happily talking.

Then, just as the steam began to billow out of the train’s stack, William Doger hops into the train. He hurries to find the compartment with his friends, and through his rushing, bumps into many people. But William doesn’t care much about what other people think of him. What matters are his friends.

OOC: Post 1500!

The train started moving, families and students waving to one another. Everyone seemed to waving…except for one. Maxine had found herself an empty compartment, and settled in. What to do for the long train ride? It had been a lonely three years for her. She wasn’t quiet or shy, by any means. She was more…intense than most. She had developed a reputation for being quite the troublemaker as well. It’s not easy to make friends when all of your spare time is taken up by detentions. She looked out the window, wondering what she should do. Study? No, there was no work yet. Read? Well…maybe. For the moment, she was quite content to look out the window, thinking about the new Quidditch season…among other things, of course.

Hermione Granger had also found an empty compartment. She settled in and immediately took out a book. But she wasn’t alone for long. Her best friend Ron and his girlfriend Emilia came into the compartment, calling out cheerful greetings. Hermione noticed Ron had grown taller over the summer…more muscular. Suddenly, another fifth year appeared at the door: Quinn. Emilia’s best friend. Emilia rushed out of the compartment with her. Left alone with Ron, Hermione became a bit flustered. It wasn’t long before she found herself agreeing to do Ron’s homework…even before the school year started! Hermione wished that Ron would see her for more than a friend that’ll take care of the school work.

In the train corridor, Emilia and Quinn wandered, making sure everyone was behaving themselves. Behind them, Melody called out, happy to see Emilia, whom she recognized. They weren’t best friends, but they were friends nonetheless. Melody talked with Emilia about their newly established prefect status, but she left shortly to wander the rest of the train.

Amongst all the crowded compartments, Maxine’s empty one stands out to Melody. She begins to talk with her, asking her questions as though they had just met. Melody had known Maxine for two years from Quidditch, but she never really got to know her. It’s intriguing to Melody that someone who seemed so shy had such fire behind her eyes. Like she had so much more to tell than she wanted to at the moment. Melody only left the girl when she had to—to continue patrolling the train.

Meanwhile, Emilia had found the third years’ compartment. William and Adam had known each other since their first year. Isabelle had known them as well. Charlotte, the only Hufflepuff in the group, was welcomed easily. Isabelle and Charlotte were a bit nervous. They were much more shy than the boys. William and Adam were adventurous, bold, and even a bit rash in their quest for adventure. They struck up a conversation with talkative Emilia easily. Sneaking up behind them came Quinn, who scared everyone with her seemingly invisible presence. Ron had said goodbye to Hermione elsewhere on the train and came to join them. The presence of another older student was too much for shy Charlotte, who got up to leave, but then crashed down. Ron, lacking much empathy, burst out laughing. The others helped Charlotte up…and Emilia scolded Ron. Charlotte walked quickly away in embarrassment, while Emilia and Ron walked away, fighting with each other.

Melody’s patrolling was distracted for a bit by Hermione Granger. She was sitting alone again. Beforehand, she had seen Ron and her in the compartment together, without Emilia. It wasn’t difficult to see that Hermione liked Ron, so Melody had assumed that they were dating now. So Melody asked Hermione. The Gryffindor pretended to be confused. She didn’t know Melody very well, and she didn’t feel as comfortable as Melody did with sharing her feelings with whoever was around at the moment. Melody left after a while…she didn’t know how to talk with Hermione.

The train started slowing as they neared the castle. Students everywhere were pulling on robes, putting their things back into their trunks, looking out the windows. Maxine wandered out of her compartment and meets Adam. She also bumps into Emilia, whom she talks to about Quidditch for a bit. The other students gather around the windows, readying themselves to arrive at Hogwarts.

When the train stops, the students rush out, finding the carriages. Charlotte wanders for a while before Quinn invites her to sit in her carriage, which includes Emilia, Maxine, and Adam as well. They talk about favorite teachers, favorite classes as the carriage pull them closer and closer to the castle…their home.

If there's anything that you're afraid I'll put in, be sure to tell me. Since I'm going to try to put more detailed dialogue in, and there's a conversation you don't want me to miss, tell me :)

Soon enough, Hogwarts was reached. Emilia got distracted (what a surprise) and wandered off for a bit. Adam rushed right in and sat by William in the Great Hall. Charlotte followed behind Maxine and Quinn. Snape was positioned outside the Great Hall.

“Ten points from Gryffindor,” he drawled, for no reason whatsoever.
“Hehe, Gryffindor is already behind,” Charlotte giggled.

“Hello Miss Chase, Miss Stone,” Snape said to Maxine and Quinn.
“Hello Professor,” Maxine said stiffly, walking past with Quinn. And they entered the Great Hall.

The Great Hall, where they had been sorted. The Great Hall, where all of them had been two years ago, when all the students had to sleep in there, fearing a break-in by Sirius Black. The Great Hall, where they had gathered to hear the headmaster declare that the Dark Lord had returned the previous year.

The teachers sat at their usual long table at the head of the room. The meeting of old friends was so distracting that the students didn’t notice who the new DADA teacher was. They would soon find out.

Maxine had given into habit and found an empty space at the table. The space wouldn’t fill up, she knew the drill. But then she saw Emilia rush in, a bit late, and decided to sit by her and Quinn instead.

“Hi,” she said awkwardly, “Could I sit here?”
“Of course!” said Emilia, clearing a space.

Maxine jumps into a conversation about Quidditch. Unfortunately, Emilia isn’t very interested, but Adam is. William joins the conversation, and so does Isabelle. Then a hush falls over the feast. Dumbledore.

The students listen attentively to him. Ever since his declaration at the end of last year, there was a new reverence for the headmaster. A new respect. But it was his regular speech. And the feast was expected to begin

But a woman clad completely in pink stood up unannounced. Dumbledore introduced her as the new DADA teacher, “Ms. Dolores Jane Umbridge!” There was awkward applause across the Great Hall. William and Adam snickered, saying something about a pink frog. She hadn’t even said anything, but Quinn and Maxine were already disgusted. Emilia chose to use the word “vile.” Melody, hoping to set an example for first years, encouraged the younger students to pay close attention and offered up applause when Umbridge took the floor to make a speech.

“Thank you Dumbledore. It’s so lovely to see all your happy faces smiling up at me,” she said.

Max looked around. Nope, it wasn’t just her. No one was smiling. Well…except for that prefect Melody. She was smiling right back, even though she didn’t look like she meant it at all.

“I’m sure we’ll all be very good friends,” the pink woman continued.

Adam and William had to cover their mouths to avoid their laughter being seen. Max raised an eyebrow. Quinn and Emilia looked uncertain.

Umbridge continued on, becoming less believable with every line. The group at the Ravenclaw table (except for Melody) began to tune her out. Even though there wasn’t something specific that they didn’t like about her, they could all agree that she made them uncomfortable. Even Melody, the ultimate teacher’s pet, did not like the idea of Double DADA. One thing was for sure: lessons would not be like the hands-on tactics of Professor Lupin and “Professor Mad-Eye.”

Umbridge took a seat at the teachers’ table. Then Dumbledore, with a wave of his arms, made the feast appear. The students dug in, enjoying every single thing they could. Emilia tried to keep people from looking at Ron, who was embarrassing her from across the room by literally stuffing his mouth so much that he couldn’t chew. When everyone was full and happy, the prefects were asked to lead students to the dormitories.

Melody took off, leading the younger students especially. Maxine took a secret passageway she had learned the previous year, so she ended up in the Common Room before everyone else.

Emilia ran into Snape.

“Oh, HI Professor! How was your summer??” she said excitedly.
“Fine, Ms. Winterstale,” he replied curtly. Too hyper, he thought. “Go to your common room, girl.”
“Ok, yes Professor!” she said, skipping off.

Isabelle wondered what was wrong with the girl. That was a strange reaction. William and Adam took the opportunity of so many wandering first years to direct them to the bathrooms instead of their common rooms. But they eventually made it to the common room, as the others did too.

Many of the Ravenclaws hung out in the common room for a couple hours. But by 10, most had gone to sleep. Maxine had gone to the dormitories to write her little brother. But there were a few in the common room that still had energy. A lot of energy.

Adam, William, Isabelle, Emilia, and and Melody sat in the common room, quite restless.

Can't wait to do Hogsmeade! May take me a while...not sure...PSATs in the morning..

OOC: Putting it in order so I can read it......

ooc: Awesome!!!

Thank you! It makes me so happy that you guys are enjoying it :goodvibes

OOC: You had me laughing so hard! I was reading it aloud to myself (don't judge) and some parts I had to wait to stop giggling for it to contine. I loved my reactions:

Aww that's so sweet

"She hadn’t even said anything, but Quinn and Maxine were already disgusted."

I took this right out of the thread lol. Same with "vile."

"Max looked around. Nope, it wasn’t just her. No one was smiling. Well…except for that prefect Melody. She was smiling right back, even though she didn’t look like she meant it at all."

"Max raised an eyebrow."

I love writing for Max. It's so entertaining

I also loved how I dissappeared:

"Maxine took a secret passageway she had learned the previous year, so she ended up in the Common Room before everyone else."

"Maxine had gone to the dormitories to write her little brother."

Yeah I had to find a way to phase you out since you weren't there when we went to Hogsmeade.

But I found these lines pretty hilarious:

"Maxine jumps into a conversation about Quidditch. Unfortunately, Emilia isn’t very interested, but Adam is." -I just reallized Max talks a whole lot about Quidditch, lol.

"William and Adam snickered, saying something about a pink frog."

"Emilia chose to use the word “vile.”"

"One thing was for sure: lessons would not be like the hands-on tactics of Professor Lupin and “Professor Mad-Eye.”"

"Emilia tried to keep people from looking at Ron, who was embarrassing her from across the room by literally stuffing his mouth so much that he couldn’t chew."

Haha well, that is Ron.

"Isabelle wondered what was wrong with the girl."

"William and Adam took the opportunity of so many wandering first years to direct them to the bathrooms instead of their common rooms. But they eventually made it to the common room, as the others did too." -I think this one was one of the best

I liked writing this too. :)

Like I said, I have a pretty busy day, so I don't know if I'll get Hogsmeade done today, but I'm really hoping to get it done sometime Sunday..
