Does anyone have an HP Officejet 6500 Wireless printer/copier/fax/scanner? I am wondering how you like it?

I've had the HP all in one's for a long time and have nothing but good things to say about them. I don't have the 6500 but have the 6310 (older model) which is super easy to use and works quite well.

Go on Amazon & C-Net and check the reviews. My Dad has a new HP all in one and likes it (not sure of #), so we went to Staples and the HP rep was there. He talked us into a model that was on sale $50 off. Got home and it got miserable reviews on Amazon for using up computer memory and ease of networking. Took it back and got a Cannon that got great reviews on Amazon and C-Net. So far we like it but it doesn't have a feeder for the fax.

I just got the 6500 wireless for Christmas and so did my parents. So far, so good. I replaced an hp4200 series printer that gave me problems but this one has been great. I have a house about 2600 square feet and can print from the laptop anywhere in the house. I am pleased that the ink cartridges are all separate. It never failed that I would run out of one color ink and still have some in the other two. This one you buy yellow, pink, blue and black individually. I would recommend printer especially for the price.

I have one at home and one at the office.

The one at home we love, but can not use wirelessly because our home computer runs on Ubuntu. Dh says he could probably figure it out, but we haven't really cared to spend time on the issue. This is definitely a windows printer though.

My family's business has 7 current printers (somebody gets a new one every 6 months or so) and EVERYBODY uses mine because they like it better. It gets a lot of pages for the ink. The only thing is if you are scanning a lot through the feeder- on lower DPI settings the pages get a little crooked. They look fine but it will just be at a slight angle as it feeds through so the final document is just not quite straight. If you set the document on the glass this doesn't happen. I probably scan an average of 20 pages/day and it was about 3 months before I noticed it at all. The one at home is still fine.

I get at least 3x the coupons from my printer that my coworkers get from theirs before I'm out of ink... and they look really good.

If you want to set it up to be wireless, make sure you can get it to the router initially to install it on the network. This is normal for wireless printers, but I didn't think of that before bringing it to the office and our router is in an inconvenient place.
