How's your experience with going from park to resort by bus using a wheelchair?

You dn have to staying at Disney to use their buses anyone can go to dye and catch abus. Yes Disney is private proPerty thei bus system is consider to be like public transportion they only have to provide you with what the Ada requires which they do and exceed it. Their budget come from operation expense so yes ticket prices go onto it but our not paying directly for it by staying at a Disney resort. The cm in that thread was just talking to hear him self talk so we have to wait and see. As I said Disney not perfect they can and should do things better I don't like the que at the park but the drivers will tell you just skip it and go to be curb. Tuu can come uP I a better way but every time they do someone finds a loop hole. Not saying it towards guest in wheel chars but for very body everything Disney comes out the people trying to find the loop hole around Disney policy. Now you have drivers telling you to go against the policy to try and make it easier for you to load their riskIng their job to male sure yor happy. I kno Disney stupid for not seeing hat policy doing more wrong then good.

Your also right they need to out signs up telling guest what ti do it not fair to make guest have to guess what to do it your vacation it should be stress free. I think they don't put signs up because h still don't know what they going to do with it now they tell you one way and most likely soon it will change to another way. So they save the money and just make guest unhappy.

Bête I hope your mom feeling bettr and you have a great Christmas and you get to go back to Disney soon and hopes a great trip.

My mom is doing better physically. She's having some behavioral issues at the rehab center and we are addressing this issue, now. I may have to go to a home service if I can get it approved for her therapy and so forth. A group environment and strangers handling her are just not for her. She gets too frightened and she's scared and nervous in that setting. She's been very sheltered and this was her first experience being away from me and it's not gone very well. I could stay at the hospital overnight (her security blanket), but it's not allowed at the rehab center. I still have spent lots of time with her there, but it wasn't enough and she had a meltdown there. The therapy part is wonderful at the rehab center, but the other areas of the place has a lot to be desired. They are not too flexible and that just doesn't suit my mom's nature. For example, they will wake her at 6 am when she's sleeping soundly and wonder why she is agitated. They have an early breakfast at 7am. They don't like accomodating exceptions to the rule. My mom expects it to be like home (get up when she wants to) and it's not that way. I think my mom's over the hump, but she's still not back to the way she was and I do expect her to get there. I'm checking into other alternatives that might have a special unit for Alzheimer's and that accommodate rehab. It's hard where we live to have good choices for care especially good, special care.

I feel we will get through it all; it's just taking a while longer then it should, but with Alzheimer's some setbacks are to be expected.
