We are leaving in 2 weeks and I ALWAYS overpack, even though I don't intend to! I am from Louisiana where it is HOT AND HUMID and I hear the weather can be chilly along the coast and to pack in layers! We are staying in LaJolla and plan to visit the cove, LL, SW, Zoo and Coronado Island while in San Diego and then head to DLR! So I intend to bring a light jacket for each of us, to throw on if it gets cool, to wear with shorts from our daytime adventures. Maybe a pr of pants or capris for dinner. Is this enough? Thanks for all advice! It seems like it is warmer in Anaheim than in San Diego, just wondering if we would be cold if I just pack only shorts with lite sweaters or jackets? It just feels like I am going to bring half my closet AGAIN!

You are probably going to be ok. The La Jolla area can stay quite cool due to fog than the rest of the county. General rule of thumb is warm during sunlight and cool dark. Don't worry about the humidity in May.

You'll be fine. I can't tell you exactly what it'll be like in 2 weeks, but it shouldn't be hotter than mid 70s or colder than low to mid 60s. I know that's a bit of a wide range, but the takeaway is it won't be too hot or too cold and a light jacket should be fine lol
