How's the views 2-bedroom Concierge--AKV

Heard the concierge views aren't the best. Anyone do a two-bedroom? How bad? Any photos?

The DVC Portion of Concierge Level at AKV consists of 5 2-bedroom lock-offs. Three overlook an alcove of the Sunset Savanna, the other two overlook the Uzima Pool area. All AKL/AKV Concierge Level rooms are in Jambo House.

The reason some people do not like the views is due to the roof over-hang that blocks far-off views; in other words you can not stand on the balcony and see the far side of the savanna due to the over-hanging roof line. Also, you are looking down at the tops of the trees which at times can block your view of the animals.
You can not request a view, you get what you get when you check-in.

Views are not very good. As noted two of the 2BR lock-offs (which can also be 1BR and studio) overlook the pool. The other three (one of which is HA) look over an end of the Sunset savanna and view is partially blocked by a roof overhanging the porch. If you want club level services get club level. if you want savanna view get savanna view room.

It's not just the roof eave hanging in your view, it's the location of the rooms. On the pool side you have a great view of a roof below you with the pool in the distance.

On the savanna side you are at the dead end. Animals can't walk by, they can only walk to the dead end to get food that is put out to attract them. My guess is that most animals wouldn't want to be caught in a dead end. On our last stay there a couple of birds and a steer or ox.

From one of the concierge pool view rooms. I'm unable to show pictures of the savannah view side since we are 3 for 3 on the pool side. We just have to land in the 2nd studio to have stayed in all 4 of those rooms. However I actually like the overhangs a lot.

We were at the very end, pool view (not as obstructed as Kathy's picture). It wasn't as bad as I expected. Decent view of the pool. You could see the bright pink flamingos from very far away with binoculars. We woke up one morning to see steam over the empty pool and 5 hot air balloons above. It was really beautiful and quiet.

We usually enjoy the animals when we wake up, but always wanted to try concierge at AKV. Would you forfeit animals/views for the benefits of concierge? Would you split your stay? I know it's personal preference but just trying to get thoughts from people that have been!

Remember you do not get a choice of views.
If view is important to you then continue to get the garranteed savanna view rooms. IMHO, In your case the only reason I would choose concierge would be for the savanna tours that are offered, only to those guests.

Were you able to get the 2bedroom this morning?

Our plan is to book a regular room and grab a few nights in the studio club, just to see what all the fuss is about. We'd have 2 rooms during that time. It's a bit more points, but not as much as booking a 2 bedroom club for the whole trip.

Are those still offered? I had read somewhere that they discontinued last fall.

Booking tomorrow instead. Don't have enough points to book whole week without borrowing and hate to borrow in case I cancel whole trip! So might split between savannah and concierge or one bedroom and two??

Nope, they were discontinued. And prior to that they had opened it up so you did not have to be staying Concierge but it doesn't really matter since they are gone.

Was 45 minutes late, forgot about booking and couldn't get the concierge!!! Waitlisted and will try for rest of week tomorrow
