Just wondering how the clam bake buffet is at the Beach Club? I have an adr for our Aug. trip. We love seafood, but was just wondering what everyone else thought? Thanks, Tink

My family loves it! The clams are not the best you will ever have...they are pretty small. But they are clean and plentiful...you can have as many buckets as you like.

The food is very beach picnic like. They have fried chicken, lots of different meats, lots of veggies, clam chowder, lots of fish, etc. They also have a lot of options for kids too, which I like a lot.

The desserts are the best part. They have a great apple cobbler, homemade rice krispy treats, brownies, cake...and lots of other goodies.

We really enjoy it there...like I said, not the best food you will ever have, but great selection and great atmosphere!

I totally agree with the previous poster. I could not have said it better myself. I know some people don't give it such high marks, but DD9 and I really enoyed it (she loves CLAMS of all things!) We have ADRs in May when a friend will be in town visitng and this was her choice of restaurants too!

Don't forget the AWESOME oreo bon bons on the dessert buffet, and yummy little cheese cakes too! Not sure why I resized this photo this small... and the original is on another computer.

Steamed, if I recall correctly. Be sure to try the Oreo bon bons for dessert! :teeth:

We just there and do not the buckets anymore. There soup plates for the clams. They just as good as they never been. A word of warning, the shrimp are on the spicey side. I can toterate spicey food and could not eat them.

Yes Steamed, and I believe they have steamed mussels too... like the old steamed clambakes - they have red potatoes, corn on the cob, the steamed clams, etc.

The Cape May Clambake is always a must-do for our family! Of course, I am partial to it because I love the Beach Club so much.... :sunny:

My DM and I went last May, we were staying at the BC, and thought it was fantastic! Lovely fresh, sweet clams and a good selection of less fishy offerings if there are any in your party who would prefer to enjoy Roast Beef au jus instead! :thumbsup2

We've been there a few times and have found everything pretty decent, except the shellfish and seafood. The problem is lack of quality and freshness. If you are a lover of shellfish and seafood, and have ready access to high-quality, fresh options at home, steer clear of Cape May Cafe.

100% agree with you. The other food was good, but the seafood was below average for our likes. Being from the coast, you really learn to taste what is fresh, and what isn't! ;)

I agree with bicker (as I always do on food issue :teeth: ). The only difference is that despite the lower quality seafood, I still kind of like this buffet. It has a nice variety of items and, in my opinion, they have one of the best dessert bars of all the buffets.

We went 2 years ago when we stayed at BCV and we enjoyed it. It was good - not great.

If we ever choose to stay at that resort again (which we probably will not) we would go back - however I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there were we not staying at that resort.
