Well today I just booked 6 days in a Cabin at the Fort Wilderness for six people(4 adults 2 kids). What should I know? What loop should I say in? I got it for $144 a night w/ a AP code.

We will be there February 2-6, 2005. I just need to know what to expect, we have never stayed here before. We do have 26ft trailer so we are familiar with camping in general and I have eaten at Trail's End, so I have checked out the campground and it looks pretty nice. WE just did not want to drive it done from Buffalo. THANKS

You are going to love the cabins! I think the best part for me is the smell of the cedar when you walk in. The loops are pretty much the same. We also have a travel trailer, but will stay in the cabins for 5 nights Feb 16-21 for one of my dd (and her best friend's) birthdays. They have no clue about the bday visit. Have fun!

You'll like the cabins. We've never stayed there with more than 3 and 6 might be a bit crowded but shouldn't be too bad as long as you plan ahead for the bathroom in the morning! The cabins are much quieter than most hotels. Having your own kitchen is nice even though we don't do much cooking other than breakfast - which consists mostly of cereal. Allow plenty of time to get where you are going - we've had good luck with the busses but you still must take an internal bus (or drive a golf cart which is pricey) and then switch to another bus or boat to get to where you are going. We think the great atmosphere is worth the slight transportation inconvenience. All the loops are nice but we usually request to be near the main road end of the loop (not as long a walk from the bus stop after a long day) and if possible in one of the loops near the pool.

I agree with the other posters. Having a full kitchen and a living area makes the cabins a great place to stay. Fort Wilderness is still one of our favorite resorts.

We stayed in 2100, backs up to 1100 with a comfort station if there's concern about having only one bathroom. I always tell folks to remember cups for the bathroom, salt and pepper, coffee filters, and a cookie sheet for frozen pizza or ready to bake cookies.

You're going to love the cabins! There are six of us when we go (me and five kids) and we still find them very spacious. Some hints: Unpack when you get there and store the empty suitcases above the closet in the bedroom, and under the beds there as well. Remember that there is also cupboard storage space under the living room t.v., and on either side of the Murphy bed as well. I hate living out of a suitcase, and the cabin would feel squishy if we left them all over. Walk a lot, if you can. There is so much to see, and it is so relaxing. It is my favorite part of the campground. Have a great time!
