I must admit, I already broke one! :( I had two this year, no swearing and no soda. Well, I'm still soda free.....

So, how's it going for everyone else? ;)

I gave up dieting for lent ;) and doing quite well with it :teeth:

Didn't give up anything else.

I gave up fast food and I have stuck to it. I figure if I can give it up for this long than I can continue on without it.

I gave up diet sodas & have lost 15 lbs. since Ash Wednesday! Needless to say, I don't think I'll go back to drinking diet sodas even after Easter...

2 days off that I am making up tonight. It was to treadmill for 20min every am during the week. Tonight, it's 40 min. My reason for missing, a blister was healing.

Disfan1~ Wow! Congratulations!
Everybody else keep up the good work!

I gave up ocra. I'm going great. ;) ;)

Pretty good!!.... well, since I didn't make any.

Jesus suffered and died for me, somehow giving up candy or soda for a few weeks pales in comparison.

I didn't give up something but instead am devoting extra time to study. Our prayer group is reading The Purpose Driven Life and meeting once a week for discussion. I am learning so much about myself. If you have not read it I highly recommend it!:D

That is EXCELLENT!! Good for you!!

I did not do well this year. I was soda free for about a week. I am annoyed at myself, I did it for the last 2 years, but this year I was just craving a diet coke something awful:(

It has been years since I gave up anything for lent. This year just for lent I had dental sugery and I was on medication. I has stopped drinking alcohol and my morning coffee while I was on the medicaion. I had stopped the medication two weeks ago and still have not had a drink yet. Losing some weight as well (family doctor will be pleased).

Disneycrazymom- I am also reading The Purpose Driven Life as part of my Lenten observance. I like the way the book is divided into 40 chapters. That makes it easy to read one chapter a day during Lent. It also helps me keep track of how many days are left until Easter. I gave up spending so much time on the computer.

I gave up soda and chocolate!

I've been doing great EXCEPT when I went to my niece's birthday party and my sister told me she bought the coke just for me cause she knew how much I love coke, I just didn't have the heart to say "I gave up coke for Lent" so I had one can. But that is it. I'm back on the waggon.:teeth:

J&D that is exactly why we choose the book! It works out perfectly with the whole theme of taking 40 days to change yourself and Lent being 40 days. Have you been answering the questions too? Some of the things I have discovered about how I spend my time have been well eyeopening and I think I need to spend a bit less time here on the computer too!;) :teeth:

I didn't give anything up but am back to praying on a more regular basis and am sending cards to individuals who need them (1 or 2 a week). I am also working on more excitement for Christ in my church work. I have accomplished all of these to date and am continuing.

I have read Purpose Driven Life and it is a wonderful book. I actually still have all the weekly versus on my key chain.

My friend and his DD gave up using forks to eat with at all meals. He thought this was trivial but did it for her.

He thought this until his first Rotary Club lunch. When he started using a spoon to eat his salad someone asked him why he was doing that. He then had a chance to witness to the whole table about Lent and the Easter season.

He now thinks it is the best Lent he has ever had because of all the chances to witness.

Still going strong on my no soda for Lent! I feel alot better with just drinking water and juicies!
