Inasmuch as going to Disney at all is something special, we had decided to do a little something extra special on this trip. Our first plan was to go to the Wishes Dessert party, and everyone was excited about that. Recently, Danny started asking about the various tours, and after he and my brother talked, we decided wed all do the Keys to the Kingdom tour together instead.
There was really only one day it would work out with our overlapping schedules, on December 8th. My brother and I were out to dinner when he called to sign us up for the tour. We were both surprised to find out there were no open spots for that day, at any time. Dang.

tours are not sold out-- they are cancelled for the 1st week up til the 12th because of taping of the parade and video crew out and about til that date

It helps to know that == so you are not looking for it every day.


your PPP -is good for 14 days-- do you really need to activate it the first day? that way you can have it up til the day you are coming home

his is MY dream of a lifetime trip taking my family to disney for the Holidays. I have only been a few times...less then 5.
heding tot he world on Dec 8th thru the 15th and celebrating a Grand daughters 8th birthday with dinner in the castle and attending party.

The week is pure magic and I will be there with 15th family members

How exciting!! It sounds like a fantastic trip - and maybe we'll bump into each other while we're there!!
I think it would be such a good time to go with that many family members (well, ones you like anyway ). I so hope my extended family trip happens in a few years.

What wonderful news!!! Bummer about The Keys to the Kingdom tour not being available but you will have so much fun at the party!!! Plus you get to go twice that is amazing.

You are getting close to your trip. I am almost to the single digits.

I am thrilled at the fact we're going to the party! I plan to take about 5 billion pictures on my second party night, and in my imagination they will all be amazing. And there will be other chances at the KTTK tour, right? I always like to tell myself there will be a next time.

I think I was dreaming when I wrote this, I just reached double digits, not single digits. Down to 96 days to go, so you will have to tell me about your trip long before I tell you about mine.

Hah! Thanks! That's totally how it's going. If I am asked, I will not lie. But for now, since my brother is staying that extra night, it does just seem like that was always the plan!

Exactly. Travel days are only partial days but it makes sense. On our last trip, that last day we spent some time making sure to get all the magic shots we could, so it was an excellent PP+ day, but we could easily make that a goal any of the other days instead. It's really not much of a problem at all.

Oh, and I forgot to say - One of my biggest Disney fantasies is a solo trip! I will get some chances to be solo for a bit of time, especially during the part when I'm just there with my brother. But a whole trip on my own? I would LOVE it.

Who doesn’t love Disney clothes?
Well, a lot of people. Even people who love Disney. But I love Disney clothes, especially at Disney. One of my favorite things about Disney is that you can go All Out. And that’s how I roll.

Plus I kind of live in tshirts. I like to use my personal fashion choices to something something, so

First, the New Shirts.

Plays Well With Cowboys

I got this shirt almost right after our trip last year. We had made a trip to the Disney Store in KC because we missed Disney and it was as close as we could get. This shirt was on clearance, and I grabbed it up. I’m glad I did. I love this shirt.

Cinderella and the Tardis

As much as I love Disney, I love the Doctor more. Shocking! But true. So when I saw this shirt on Threadless I knew it was meant for me. Seriously love this shirt, even though my mom says it looks like some perv in a phone booth.

Belle and the Tardis

I love this, too. Probably more because I like Belle more. And because my favorite thing in the world is reading outside, and my biggest wish would be to travel with the Doctor, and Belle is my favorite princess - so yeah.

Buzz

I got this one from Threadless at the same time as the Doctor ones. It’s what I’ll wear on the day I think I’ll meet him. Love this shirt - it’s just a giant Buzz face. Bold and simple, just like the toy himself.

2013

Last year Danny got a 2012 shirt, and as soon as we were back i wished I would have bought one. This shirt went on sale at the Disney store right about the time we were all talking about getting matching 2013 shirts, so we got these! Hannah tried to say she wasn’t going to wear it the same day we did and I had to give her the “All the things I do for you and I hardly ask you for anything” speech before she agreed we could all match one day.

Please Stand Clear of My Vacation

When we saw these last year before our trip, we wanted them. But I was all hard core about not spending money back then. And then we saw them in the parks but didn’t buy them because we have a rule not to buy stuff when we’re there that we know we can get online. So when I got the coupon in the mail for the Disney Store, we ordered these. Danny didn’t want one. He thinks they’re rude and people might be offended. I pointed out that last trip he wore a shirt that said “No need to repeat yourself. I was ignoring you.” Just sayin.

Tigger in a Tardis
Just a few weeks ago I saw this shirt oniine somehow. From some Disney socail media I follow I think. I so very much had to have it. I haven’t worn it yet. I love it so much it makes me want to bounce!!

Old Shirts

Tink
This shirt is kind of old and new, because I bought it recently from a thrift store. It’s definitley been worn, but I really love it. I don’t know if I’ll wear it or not. I was thinking maybe to sleep in, but it doesn’t really go with my Marie pj pants.

Cinderella
I don’t know if I even like this shirt. I kinda do, but I don’t like that Cinderella’s face is as big as the shirt. On the other hand, last year when Cinderella say it she was very funny. Will I take it, probably. Will I wear it, I dunno.

Mickey Shirt
This was my favorite shirt on our last trip. I love all the versions of the mouse in the background, and I love the cheerful Mickey all over the front.

Tigger’s Costume
This is a really old shirt. It’s even been mended. Oh you can tell it’s old because I did the cut in the neck thing. Remember that? But Tigger dressed up like Mickey is the cutest thing in the world, so I have to keep wearing it.

Mickey Thermal
This shirt is so, so comfy. It’s a lightweight thermal with Mickey front and center. Great for chilly evenings.

Minnie Thermal
Just like the Mickey Thermal, but it’s pink and has Minnie. It was so warm on our last trip I didn’t even get a chance to wear it.

Jackets

Patchy Jacket
I love this jacket so much. I found it at Mouse Gear last year, and didn’t buy it when I saw it. You know what that means. I couldn’t find it anywhere. I ended up buying something else. After I got back and I was missing Disney planning, I used to check the Disney Store sale section a lot, and one day I found the jacket! On sale even, which was great. I love it. The patches are made out of floppy cotton and stitched on. It has an awesome giant Disney D on the zipper pull.

The Other Jacket
Last year, when the trip was at an end and I still hadn’t spent my birthday money, I ended up buying a different hoodie. This one. I like it - it’s that varsity style I loved and references the past like the Patchy Jacket. But it’s kinda too big and just not as cool. It’s lined though, and a big warmer. It’s not a bad jacket to have. Here’s the front of it in a picture from last year. You really can't see it at all, but it's got a big 71 on the front. I think Danny will wear it this year. I might take a better picture and share it here, but I kinda doubt it.

So there you go! My Disney wardrobe. (Well, minus my pjays. And a Pooh shirt I forgot about. And a villains shirt I kinda hate.) I'm not planning to get any more until we are on our trip - the Disney shirts have certainly multiplied since last trip!

I do have some Disney accessories though, and I think I'll show those next!

I too love to scour the Disney Store online Sale page. I just got an awesome Glinda Shirt on sale for $5.99 that I can't wait to wear to the parks. I am also buying those thermal shirts for all the kids going with us this time. They are all on sale and so far I just need to get one more and then I can check another thing off the Christmas list.

I know! It was so crazy. I mean would could START with the fact that she's about to go do Disney World for the 5th time without having to pay or plan a drop of it. Children!!

It sounds SO heavenly! I can't even imagine. The longest I've been before is 8 days and that seemed luxurious - even though I still wasn't ready to leave at the end of that trip, of course!

Ok you guys, I can not even stand it!!

I got email this morning saying my Magic Bands have shipped!!
I'm going to have such a hard time not putting them on and wearing them every single day until we leave. And then of course every single day that we're there.

My band will be orange.

This first one will. But I'm going to have 4. !!! Apparently, they can't figure out how to handle split stays yet or something, so you get a band for every part of your stay (although I've read they all work the same).

Remember for some unknown reason our stay at AoA is broken into two reservations, so we get 2 for that. And then I get one for my stay at BLT with my brother. For our last night, we're staying at All Star Movies so the 4th is for that. I'll have orange, yellow, green and pink. Crazy.

But my first set has shipped! It's less than a month now. I can barely stand it I'm so excited. Which is good, because it's time to get busy.

I guess I skipped over all the part about when I set up our Magic Bands and started making our FP+s. I meant to, and I even made the beginning of a post - but obviously I never finished or posted it. Maybe I’ll get a chance to talk about that process later, but today, I wanted to show you my magic bands!!

As you may remember, our stay at the LM is strangely split into 2 separate reservations. My Magic + doesn’t really know how to handle split stays yet, so they were going to send us two different sets (although I hear each band will work fine through the entire stay).

Halloween morning, I got an email announcing my bands had shipped! I sent a message to my TA (who is also my real life friend) sharing my excitement and she told me to be on that look out that day. She did a trip with magic bands the month before, and ended up getting the bands the day before the email announcement came. Awesome.

So I was on the look out. And just before lunch they came!

I was so excited to read the return address.

So excited that this picture of the box is blurry.

I opened the blurry box and saw this.

And then today, these came.

Maybe the coolest part is that I’ll be part of 2 more Magic Band shipments! Pretty soon my awesome brother will be getting the bands for the part of our stay at BLT (I chose green), and in a week or so I’ll get the bands for our last night at All Star Movies (I chose pink).

I think it’s kind of crazy that we’re getting a separate set of bands for each of these, but I guess that’s how it’s working now. And since I’ll have them all, I hope I’ll get a chance to give them all a shot!

I know! It's crazy. Especially when you think that they want you to use the same one for several years on subsequent visits. I don't get it.

In other weird Band news - my brother just moved to Las Vegas. He updated his mailing address on the Magic Band page - but they sent them to his old address today. The told him some story about how the system takes some kind of snapshot of the info when you first enter it, so then it can't really be changed. Leave it to Disney's IT I guess? They do seem to be a lot like the team that built the Health Care website (which I do not mean to be a political commentary in any way).
