I think that would have been, and still is, a great opportunity to talk to your daughter about how grownups can be just as wrong as kids. They can be mean, petty, immature, nice, likable etc just like all her friends in school. Then I'd tell her that the teacher was wrong to be mean and invite her to share how those words made her feel. Finally I would end the conversation with a request that she take out her pictures and tell me all about it & I would make such a fuss the teachers poor behavior would be a distant bell.

It's not hard for a parent to totally block out other people's influence, just use more love & sunshine

No matter how one votes- when a President is elected in, he is OUR President. Agree with him or disagree with him, I would still love to meet ANY sitting Presdient! Those photos would be GREAT to have.

The teacher was inappropriate and I would tell her that you are teaching your daughter to respect the office of POTUSA no matter your political leanings.

I understand that minister's wives are not perfect, but NO ONE, especially a person of influence and authority in a child's life should be saying things like "throw a dart in it." That's just beyond rude and tacky. I have had strong feelings about recent administrations and never once said anything remotely close to that to my class or really in general because its just wrong. Personally, I would be done with that teacher, but that's just me. She doesn't seem like she understands that you need to respect the Presidency. And quite honsestly, if any of our former or sitting Presidents would like to invite us over for a BBQ, we will be there!
