How would you handle this?

OK, this may end up being a bit long, so I apologize in advance. I'm 18 years old and my two friends and I are planning to drive down to Florida in the summer for a road-trip. We'd be taking two cars. Now, when I first heard this idea my first reaction was to get an inexpensive resort room and since I will have season passes to WDW, I would go there with my friends. Or going one or two days there (since they'd be buying their tickets) and go somewhere else the other two or three days with them. I should mention that I'm OK with being by myself, and since I was young, I have always wanted to go to WDW alone, I realize that might sound strange for a 18 year old boy to be saying that but it's always been a sort of "goal" of mine. When I do go to WDW with my family I usually have about 1 alone day, and sometimes go to parks in the morning by myself and have my family meet me there later in the day. So being alone wouldn't be a problem for me. I'd probably enjoy it quite a bit.
My problem is with my two friends. One hasn't yet expressed any feelings towards WDW but seems OK with the general idea of a trip to FL. My other friend today told me that she "loathes Epcot". As you can tell by my name, I wasn't too happy with her. Granted, the only time she's been there was on Christmas day a few years ago. She also said a few rides broke down while she was there. I told her maybe she just went at the wrong time and couldn't fully enjoy it, but she seemed kind of stubborn and wanted to stick with her distaste for my favorite park. Also, she when she goes down to FL she wants to go to the beach a few days and few other places non-Disney. So what I'm concerned about is am I being selfish in wanting to just do WDW? I like the beach, but if I drive all the way down to FL from PA I really wouldn't want to go there since I can drive to the Jersey shore in about an hour and a half (not the same thing exactly, but a beach is a beach). Also, if I'm plunking down my own money for this resort and my meals I would want to do what I want for the majority of the time. I wouldn't mind leaving WDW for a day or so to go somewhere else, but I'd want to spend the majority of the time at WDW. So would it be wrong of me to simply drive down there with them go to WDW, maybe meet them one day and spend the rest of the time solo?
Please, I don't want you to get the idea that I'm a selfish brat who will complain if I don't get my way. I'm willing to bend. But I figure if I'm paying for my room in WDW and I'm right there anyway, I might as well take advantage of our season passes. Opinions would be greatly appreciated. Again, sorry for the length. Thanks guys!

**As a side note, we'd probably be down there for about 4 or 5 nights and I'd most likely end up staying at the WDW resort on my own.

Did you start this discussion of a road trip with - Hey yu guys wanna drive down to WDW?? or Hey u guys wanna drive to Florida??? theres a BIG difference

Before you go any further you need to sit down with your two friends and discuss what each of you wants out of this trip. if you dont figure this out BEFORE you go - one of you is NOT going to be happy and all of you are going to end up spending to much of your money not to enjoy yourselves.
a. You want to go to wdw and spend maybe one day at the beach
b. Wants to go to the beach and maybe spend one day at WDW
c. What does "C" want to do???
d. Also why are three people taking two cars?

Perhaps you need a 4th friend that you can take to wdw and then meet up at the beach with the other two friends.

good luck - hope this trip works out for you

The question was just asked if we wanted to go to Florida. Nothing really specific. The person who came up with the idea always wanted to drive down to Florida in her car - specifically her car. Honestly, I don't trust the car because it's very old and the engine has had its fair share of problems. But it's something she wants to do before it conks out. Also, if we do this having seperate cars down there would be more convenient.
Thanks for the suggestions DeeDeeDis, I'll give them a shot. :)
Anyone else have any suggestions?

Hope it works out for you. So your following in your car incase hers breaksdown?? yuk

My oldest son, also named Mike, is a big fan of wdw and just completed the college program in January and already has his plane ticket for a return/reunion trip on the evening of May 18th (finals are over this day). The place is kindof addicting
