How would you get rid of ten points?

I rented reservation points a few years back and used them to stay one night at the Polynesian - Lagoon View. They were priced around $5/point. That amounted to a slight savings vs. booking through CRO with an AP.

Even if someone were to use your points at a moderate, they would have to be coupled with some more of your regular points. Again - you would only be able to charge in the $5-$6 range, depending on when the person would use them.

For example, I would need 18 points for a weeknight stay at Carib. Beach in July. A night there in a standard room is approximately $112 with tax and AP rate. If I were to go in September, I would need 14 points but the AP rate for that time frame is less - probably around $100.. (value)

Would it be possible to write a rental ad on the DVC board to ask if anyone wanted to rent points from you for their upcoming reservation at a non-DVC resort. If you priced the points at @$9 per point, I think you might find someone who wanted points....THen, you would have to borrow from 2006 to give them enough points to get at least part of their desired ressie.

But if you ran out short next year, you could always find points to rent back to use yourself.

I think what we are going to do is borrow 8 points from our next year points and just add a extra day. So it's a sad day at our house because we have to add a extra night at WDW!

If it were me, I would offer them out at no cost----someone may need just that amount of points for their reservaion and you will have made someone very happy!!!!!!! I have done some similiar scenerios and you will feel good that you have done a good deed for someone........I believe that what goes around comes around.

I would do that if someone needed 10 points to use for a non DVC resort, because they can only be used as Reservation points now. So if anyone need thems just let me know by the end of this week.

I misread your original post. I thought you wanted to get rid of 10 POUNDS, which would be incredibly hard at WDW but since you want to get rid of 10 points instead, I say to go for it!

Just let them expire, that is what they are for to expire if not used.

I misread your original post. I thought you wanted to get rid of 10 POUNDS, which would be incredibly hard at WDW but since you want to get rid of 10 points instead, I say to go for it!

Every time we go to WDW I gain 10 pounds!
