How will the new "super premium" pass affect my AP?

My family is thinking of going to Disneyworld this summer (again) and we have Premium Disneyland Annual Passes. My dh wants to buy myself and him the new "super" pass so we can go back in the fall for our anniversary.
My question is- how would buying the new pass affect our Disneyland passes. We just got them in January.
I know there must be a genius out there that knows! Help!

It won't affect your current pass in terms of benefits or anything. What I'm not sure about is when it would expire, whether it be in January or when you upgrade. My guess is that it would expire a year from when you upgrade, but I'm not 100% sure.

I found this in the Q&A after they first announced the Premier Passport. Your situation is reversed but I would assume the rules are still the same so it looks like the expiration is the same as the initial pass -

I currently have an Annual Pass at Disneyworld that expires in April of 2011. I’m going to Disneyland in September and would like to upgrade. Any idea when I upgrade in September if my Annual Pass would still expire in April of 2011 or would it be changed to September of 2011?
I think it’s a great idea for some people, but not most. I will be getting this.

Thanks, Christopher. If you currently hold an Annual Pass you’ll be eligible to upgrade to the Premier Passport. You’ll pay the difference between the retail price of your existing pass and the Premier Passport price. Expiration date will remain the same as the initial annual pass. Also, upgrades can be done at Guest Relations at either site."

I had the same answer when I was about to upgrade my PAP to the Premier when it came out in March. I wanted to upgrade my AP when it expires in June of this year and I asked if I upgrade to the premier and was hoping that it would expire in March 2011. But they said that it expires on the original expiration date on my DL AP.

I did not to buy the Premier especially if I just have 3 months left before my AP expires, but I should have bought the premier since I would have saved some money on the days that I went and the parking when I went on my trip last month.

Even though that the Premier has the same benefits of the shopping and restaurants at both resorts, the WDW has limited choices of discounts of dining at the whole resort.
