How will FD-2011 affect bounce back offers?

So since they released FD until Sept 2011, how will that affect the bounce back offers for those of us staying Aug-Sept of this year? Does this mean we won't be given the FD bounce back offer only room discount?

I don't know how it will affect the bounceback offers, but it really does't matter you can book before you even go! It has just about all the dates that the bounceback would have. We just booked now I don't have to take time to book a bounceback while at the resort:thumbsup2

Not necessarily. They may still offer a bounceback to resort guests. It just might be similar to the offer already out there.

The last few years, the bounceback offered in Aug/Sept has always been the free dining for the next year anyway and for most of that same time frame, you can book that through the general public code so maybe it will be something different.

Well the difference this year is that if you booked BB last year you got regular dining instead of counter service if staying at Values.

It saves you $11 per adult per day by not having to upgrade.

Another advantage was only buying a one day ticket instead of 2.

I am hoping for the same deal when we arrive this week.

Let us know what the current BB is when you get back. I am undecided, if I should book now, or wait to see what the bounceback offer is when we get there. I don't want to have to buy 2 tickets. We usually just get a one day ticket and do the Halloween party and have 2 pool days.

Yea, I'm kind of on the fence about it too.....I really would like something that went through the first week in October, but with the 2011 FD dates ending on a Thursday it makes it kind of strange to use that as the last day to check in and stay through October. Decisions, decisions LOL

I doubt the BB FD offer will be any different than the GP FD offer that can be booked by anyone now. I guess we'll have to wait and see.---Kathy

Then there is no point/need to book a BB. Obviously, they don't need to offer a BB at all. But if they do, it would have to be more than just FD to make it worth your while.

One reason would be what some posters are talking about - only having a 1 day ticket requirement like this years bounceback and regular DDP with the Values. Also, bounce back may have a different group of rooms/resorts than the GP bounceback as well. WDW always seems to have groups of rooms for each offer. You may be able to book a resor/room type with the FD but not the GP room only discout for example.

I see...but they are offering something additional in those cases, particularly for the values. I wonder what could be offered for those staying in mods.

Maybe extra per this years offer but FD used to be offered to ALL resorts as regular DDP inculding Values plus the 1 day ticket was the only required ticket purchase. This is how the bounceback offered in 2009 was for 2010. Many this year that booked as a bounceback will have Free DDP at a Value plus only have had to purchase a 1 day pass. The 2 day tickets are where many AP holders draw the line and don't book since it's a greater output of money. We are AP holders and have done the FD and Free $500 giftcards at VALUES and only had to buy a 1 day pass (to keep for further use but you can only collect so many of there and 2 day tickets are almost twice the cost of the 1 day so a lot of cash out)

I modified an exisiting reservation with bounceback in July. I saved 20%. Now that the GP discounts are out I am saving 25%.

I am curious to see what, if any bounceback offers will be.

It seems all the discounts are for packages which really leaves out the AP holder. There are no AP discounts and mine expires in Oct. Now that they are requiring 2 day and more passes, it really does takes some wind out of the AP. Yes, you have park tickets but then staying on site becomes a hardship because you are stuck with no discounts.

What to do, What to do?

I am hoping that PP is right that the Values will get Regular Dining for BB. We're going in a few weeks, but I'm booking for 2011 tomorrow. If we get the Regular Dining for BB I'll switch it.

BB is when you book a hotel or package WHILE you are still at your hotel.
Discounts are significant.

Sometimes the BB offers include dates that the general public offer doesn't include. I am hoping by some miracle it will include some summer dates.

I'm hoping for a discount for next summer, too. Our summer 2011 dates were under a black out under that FD discount that was released yesterday.

The current BB offer is for a room-only discount, but it expires at the end of 2010. I'm guessing that this is the same BB we'll get because this is probably the one they are offering during FD.

I hope that a good room only code will open later for the summer dates that were blacked out with the FD promotion.
