How were Friday night crowds for World of Color on a Halloween Party night?

We planned on watching World of Color on a Friday night in late October with the lunch dining package but that Friday is also a HP night. Did anyone view WoC last night that can tell me how much the HP affected the CA crowd levels? It will be our first trip and if CA gets really crazy on Friday night because of DL being closed early we may switch nights! How early would we need to arrive with the dining package tickets? Thanks in advance!

I don't know about World of Color specifically, but last night, as we were reporting on and posting about the incoming news as they happened at MHP (in the Halloween Time Superthread), one of the things that was discovered by someone in the thread was that -- towards the beginning of MHP -- the wait times for rides in DCA were very long. I commented that it seemed like everyone who wasn't attending MHP scurried over to DCA.

We were at DL last night until 5pm when we left for DCA and it was pretty busy at first there. Then by 8pm it was crazy crowded so we left. A large amount of people were waiting for WOC before 8pm.

We were there last night and did WOC with the package. Thankfully! I've never seen crowds like that and if not for the package would have just left the park. It was crowded! It did seem to thin out after the first show, but the rides stayed busy.

We were there too, and did the dining package. It was insanely busy, and I found people were not in the happiest spirits. Get there early to get a good spot. They seemed to open the viewing area early. I think the dining package is the way to go on a MHP night.

Friday nights have two showings of WoC, correct? I wonder if the second show was better crowd-wise.

I noticed they did have two shows last night but it was so crowded I'm sure the 2nd show was very crowded as well but probably less so than the first.

Thanks everyone! We could wait and watch World of Color on the following Monday night. That Monday is not a HP night and there is only one showing of WoC that night. Would there be a huge difference in crowds for us with the package? We are not exactly tall and this is our first trip so I really want a good viewing spot that doesn't make me claustrophobic :)
That Monday would be our only backup night for DL fireworks if we for some reason cannot see them the first night we arrive because there are so many parties the weeks leading up Halloween, so I am really going back and forth on my dates and decisions!

You should really buy a dining package if you don't want people packed in around you. They probably still will be but it will likely be much better.
