How was security on New Year's Eve?

Did Disney do anything special at the overflow parking lot or inside the Fort to keep things under control? How were the crowds at the fort?
Hope everyone had a wonderful NYE to be followed by a Happy New Year.

Happy New Year to you.

Security at the Fort for NYE was similar to what they did on Halloween. There were employees stationed at the four way stop, near the 700 loop exit, and by the tennis courts. I also saw a castmember patrolling in a cart, and a uniformed security guard patrolling by bicycle.

They had organized activities on Clementine's Beach beginning at 9 pm. It was crowded, but no more so than the past two years. As far as I know, nothing real crazy happened. We did our last looping at about 1 am, and no body else was out and about.

A quiet night, overall.

it wasn't quiet in the 600 loop. The people across from us partied until 3am. i was afraid their fireworks were going to melt my awning. I never complained but i heard some fellow campers come out and ask them to turn down their music and such. Security came by once and they settled down for about ten minutes...lol

Well, Glad no one was hurt anyway. Good to hear they are at least trying to keep it under control on the major Holidays.

Disney po po was stopping people and handing out the NEW GOLF CART RULES to people like me, who were vi-o-lating them. Apparently, there are two new important rules on golf carts that I was made aware of, even while at the stop sign. (My DH wouldn't get off the phone to let me get the full tongue lashing, however, I got the gist of it.) You are no longer allowed to talk on the phone or text while driving your golf cart on Disney property. This was made aware to me by the po po, who would not let me continue on my merry way when it was my turn at the four-way stop at the front. He wanted me to have the new and improved rules and kept putting them in my face while I kept telling DH he had to get off the phone now. So, in my oh-so-snarky-way, I told the man that I was unaware of such a rule and that I could talk on my phone while driving my licensed vehicle. He told me they were the new rules. To which I told him that they should have given out the NEW RULES when I checked in since they took down my license number off my driver's license, my license plate and the make and model and color of my jeep. Now, I realize I came in at 11:30pm at night because my thermostat was running half open and I took her slow and steady with the cart up to Orlando that day and was not with the boys and the RV, however....

If they are going to take down all that information on their little sheet, they could have at LEAST given me the little new sheet to read while I was waiting.
