How warm are Uggs?

Ya'll are really making me think that I should buy a pair of UGGS. I don't know that I particularly like them but I cannot keep my feet and hands warm and anything that I don't wear socks is a big plus. Don't they get funky inside though? Can you wash them? What about when they get wet? They don't look waterproof?

They don't get funky. Can't wash them.

They sell protectant spray so you can waterproof them.

Have 6 pairs of UGG boots.
Wore them in Alaska. Very, very comfortable.
Don't wear socks!!!!!

I am a huge Ugg fan. I have a few pairs one of which is two years old. That pair is a bit stretched out but not at all funky. (don't ask me about DD9's Uggs tho!!! Whoo stinky. I think she got them wet and they just are stinky). I don't wear socks with them 99 percent of the time and if it is cold out, my feet are the only part of me cozy and warm. I have worn socks with them on occaision when I will be out in the cold for a long time.

I have worn socks w/my UGGS for years and have never had a problem with warmths or lack thereof. When I'm going to be out sledding or walking in snow w/my DD and the dogs, I'll even put a pair of chenille socks on for the extra warmth just in case. Never once have my feet been cold in UGGS. I cannot say the same for snow boots. Do what makes you feel comfortable OP socks or no socks, you'll be warm in UGGS.

Another vote for no socks! I have had my Uggs for 3 years and they are still in great shape...lasting through ugly winters in Pittsburgh. I agree that my feet are kept warmer than the rest of my body!

Love love love my Ugg Slippers Santa just brought me.

Living in South Louisiana , I really cant justify buying the boots, but the slippers are amazing. Just what I need here, for warm winter toes in the house. I may ask the Valentine fairy for a new pair in another color, just to change it up a bit ; ). I am a SAHM and I used to put my tennis shoes on to wear around house during day, but these have a nice thick bottom so I have been wearing these , I can just slip them off when I sit in a chair or couch and put my feet up and I can walk outside in them.


I tried a pair of GORGEOUS UGG gloves on in Dillards the other day.. really Ugg gloves here in Louisiana? Normally we dont need any gloves lol, but I guess this week we could HAHA! If I lived further north I would have bought those 150.00 beauties in a heartbeat and the boots and hat to match.

there should have been a tag on the box saying NOT to wear socks with your uggs. the sheep skin will insulate in the cold and cool in the heat (they can be worn year round) but skin/sheepskin contact is what causes this.

do not wear socks iwth your uggs. this will cancel out what they are naturally made to do.

Ok, I have never had Uggs, so I don't completely understand why you don't wear socks. Please fill me in!

You buy spray for them and spray the shoes so they are waterproofed. Mine have not yet gotten funky inside.. and I have worn them every day since Christmas.

They are like a blanket for my feet. Everyone at work is complaining that their feet are cold and I am just as warm as anything.

The sheepskin is naturally moisture-wicking, which keeps your feet from sweating. I always wear mine without socks. They are the warmest, most comfortable shoes I've ever worn.

They are soooooooo toasty warm and extremely comfortable......another one here who wears them without socks! I've had mine 3 years and LOVE them!

DITTO! I've had my 2 pairs of Ugg boots for 2 or 3 years now. I spray them with the protector and they also have a spray for the inside to keep them smelling nice. Mine haven't gotten funky or gross. They actually still look really good. Sometimes I wear socks but most of the time I do not.

I love my UGG slippers. They are the only slippers I buy/wear now.

When I bought my uggs at the Walking Company, they told me Uggs should't be worn for several days in a row. Give them a day to air out. They can get stinky if you wear them day in and day out.

I have got to reading the Dis. I now want to go out and buy Uggs for myself and DD.
