How to write on "photo" autograph books???

I see MANY cute designs for autograph books, but some say to have the photo templates printed in a photo book or as 4x6 photos and then binded together. My question is how will the characters write on the photos without their signature smearing everywhere? Even using a sharpie will smear, and using a ballpoint pen I'm told is not recommended due to some of the bigger costume characters not able to hold on well.

Help please!

You would have the pages printed on heavy card stock and then bound at Staples or Office Max. Then have the front and back covers done in heavy plastic.

??? Where can I go to have the pages printed on cardstock?? From what I see, and what I'm reading it says to have the images printed in either a photo book, or send them to walgreens to be printed (on photo paper I assume).

they are full color 4x6, 5x7 or 8x8 "templates" that the characters can write on. I see many designs for them on the Creative DISign boards so I know people are using them but I just don't know what the trick would be for writing on these, unless I can get them printed on cardstock but if so... where can I do that at?

Hi! I just got my order from bestvaluecopy.com. It was amazing color quality and only 10 cents a page (and i had two images/ templates per page.) it was costly to ship, but I printed lots of things to make it worth while, even with all of that, it was still 1/4 what I would have paid at Staples/ office max! I plan to cut the images apart and have them bound at one of the office supply stores.

Well I just got back from Walgreens and talked to them about my options. They let me test out writing on a glossy print with a sharpie and it dried in about 5-10 seconds! I was impressed! My plan is to collect all the autographs and then put them in a scrapbook (either 8x8 or 5x7) along with the character picture on one side and the autograph on the other.

So I think I'll just print out the templates on photo paper at walgreens...now I just have to find a coupon code! :)

Thanks for the help!

I have always used photo paper and always sharpies- the key to not smearing the ink is to blow on it for a second or two- or wave it to air it a little before touching it or putting it back in the photo book. We also keep our photo autograph book in ziploc bag to prevent from getting wet on water rides or pop up rain showers.

We also used photo paper and (retractable) sharpies. Fyi - some of the characters wouldn't use the green sharpie we had so you may want to skip that color (something about it not coming out of their costume if it got on it).
