How to watch World of Color and Fantastic without package?

I blew it and missed out on getting dining packages for Fantastic and World Of Color (they are now all sold out). Is it possible to watch these shows without a dining package pass? We haven't been in a really long time so I'm not sure how it works anymore. Last time we went WOC was all Fastpass seating!

for WOC:
there is a virtual queue in the disneyland app, that is similar to previous fast pass. you just go into the disneyland app, and add your party to the virtual queue, assuming it's available and not sold out. The virtual queue is free. my understanding is that the virtual queue is required.

for fantasmic:
you just need to be there, there is no signups. eventually, if you come too late, you would either be in a bad location to see the show, or turned away.

The later show for WOC and fantasmic have much less people. Those are your best bets

Fantasmic is more of a necessity to have a dining package for the 9:00 pm show.

WOC has virtual queue and frankly does not require a dining package for the 9:00 pm show. Some people love the dessert package, which is about $90 per person but includes a seat. VQ is standing. Dessert party is not at all necessary.

As others have noted, the later show of either will be much easier to see standby.

Thank you everyone, we will try the second show for both. And thank you, I have not heard about this virtual queue, so now I have some reading up to do! It is SO much more complicated than 7 years ago!
