How to visit Disney California Adventure with MaxPass (non EMH Days) 8am Opening 7/20

730am: Arrive at the entrance to DCA. The gates will open 30-15 minutes before official opening. When you are through the gates, head down Buena Vista Street make a right toward Soarin but follow the Grizzly Trail path toward the Little Mermaid Adventure and wait for rope drop.

Grab your World of Color FP before the park opening and set up your MaxPass tickets via the Disneyland App.

Now you have to decide if you want a chance to ride Guardians twice or Racers twice. Keep in mind that you have a better chance to still experience Racers twice if you decide on Guardians twice. BUT NO PROMISES!
Note: We will choose the 2nd ride on Guardians option in this post

8am-930am: Once the park opens. Head to Paradise Pier and ride Toy Story Midway Mania first with no FP (keep an eye on the app as you want to use MP for a Guardian FP with the return time 9am-10am). After TSMM, ride Screamin with no FP, then Mickey's Fun Wheel, Goofy Sky School with no FP (while in line use MP for Radiator Springs Racers FP), Jumpin Jellyfish, Symphony Swings, and Golden Zephyr.
Note: if the FP for Guardians is a bit earlier or later it's ok, as you can use any FP 5 minute before the return and up to 15 minutes after the end time.

930am-10am: Head to Carsland and ride Maters Junkyard Jamboree, Luigi' Rollicking Roadsters, use FP for Guardians (while in line grab FP for Soarin Around the World).

10am-11am: Ride Monsters Inc., use FP for Racers (while in line use MP for Grizzly River Run FP), use FP for Soarin Around the World (while in line use MP to grab 2nd FP for Guardians),

11am-12pm: use FP for Soarin Around the World, use FP for Grizzly River Run.

1230pm: Lunch

130pm: Ride the Little Mermaid (while in line use MP for 2nd Racers FP or any other attraction that is not Guardians)

After that, you are open to see some shows, visit the characters, and experience the attractions you may have missed.

If you were to hop mid day from DL to DCA (around 11-12) is there a good possibility that RSR will still have FP? If so, what would be your first rides to hit after grabbing that... i'm thinking Toy Story or Soarin? Thank you for all the wonderful tips!

RSR FP should still be a available.
Soarin should be next since it will sell out after RSR. Then TSMM.

However, if TSMM has a quick return time. I would get TSMM FP first then RSR.

RSR FP usually sells out between 1-3. Keep an eye on the Disneyland app

One of the first impacts I expect to see from MaxPass starting up is I think RSR will start disappearing earlier in the day.
