How to transfer a pattern to canvas shoes??

I'm wanting to create some custom shoes for our upcoming trip so I thought I would paint some Disney characters/scenes on white canvas shoes. My issue is that I can't free-hand for the life of me. I'm hoping someone can provide suggestions on how I can transfer the design to the shoe so I can just paint within the transfer. TIA!

We have this thing called Dylon Image Maker here which does it...or tile sealant I believe will do the job...google it, believe me
