How to Tour Universal (also older people going)

I'm planning a 4 day, park to park visit to Universal in early December--so crowds should be low I think.

I am wondering if I need a touring plan this time of year? The one I found would be a lot of walking back and forth across the parks, and we will have grandparents in their 70's with us. I wondered about just working our way around the parks instead, maybe using a wait time app like Undercover Tourist's?

I'm truly hoping there will be some things the grandparents can do as well. I don't want them to regret the tickets!

Will you have Express Passes?

Either way, ditch the touring plan. Just go with your idea looking at wait times and hitting things as they come.

Four days and early December? I wouldn't plan much at all. I would plan on where you want to eat lunch so you can be near it but that's about it. I would look up some activities you think the grandparents would want to do if you are concerned about that. Some people in their 70's love thrill rides, but if they don't, then there is more. Make sure to get the show times on the way in if they aren't ride people.

I took my mom when she was 79 - she's a huge Harry Potter fan! We went in August and had 10 days with annual passes to both US/IOA and SeaWorld. We only spent half days in the parks and had plenty of time to see/do everything. We didn't use a touring plan, just walked from attraction to attraction without crisscrossing the parks. In early December you shouldn't have any issues at all.

Our first trip we only did 2 days. But you could plan as we did, we had park-to-park tickets. We planned the first day to stay mostly at IOA and do the water rides. We dressed to get wet. (weather permitting in December) We made a list of "must do" attractions, then filled in as we walked by, especially if wait times were low. Make a lunch reservation around were you think you might be at lunch time. It's nice to sit down for a long lunch. With the P to P pass, you can ride the Hogwarts Express back and forth between the 2 parks too. If you circle IOA or US you do end up back at Citywalk. We have eaten lunch at Citywalk then switched parks. With four days and mid-week, you should be able to take your time, have decent wait times, avoid too much crisscrossing. We used the Universal app to check wait times. Our last trip was mid-week in January and there were no wait times over 25 minutes, except for Kong and it was down for an hour or so. Walking around IOA and US is much less stressful than Disney, IMO. Have fun!

We recently did 1 day with no plan. But we had annual passes to Universal hollywood last year so we were able to skip a lot of the duplicate stuff. We mainly wanted to see HP stuff, so we did all that multiple times(even the duplicates), did Mummy a couple times, and MIB, and the Poseidon show and a lot of shopping in HP areas. In 2 days we would have been able to see everything no problem. If you are set on 4 days I would just plan meals like someone else mentioned, including places in Citywalk.
