How to suspend glitter in clear jello or something like that?

Here's my question:

My daughter and I are hosting a table at our church Christmas dinner. She thought about using clear jello and suspending glitter throughout it to place in glass cylinders on the table as part of the decorations.

Does this sound too far-fetched? If not, how could it be done? Thanks!

I don't know about jello but there is a clear wax for the soft candles that you can color(if you wish) and suspend things in if you want- it is definately more expensive than clear jello(which I have no idea about).
