How to send check or money order to U.S. from Canada?

We have been offered an Illuminations Dessert Party through our magical travel agent; however, we need to pay with a check or money order. Has anyone here written a check to the U.S. (from a Canadian bank account to a U.S. business in U.S. dollars)? Or, how do I do a U.S. money order? Just wondering how I can pay for this event (they do not take credit cards). I'm sure it can be done and thought I'd ask here if anyone has experience in this area.
TIA :-)

Your bank should be able to issue a money order in US funds. Have you inquired with your TA about PayPal - it is the most direct and quickest way to transfer funds.

Canada Post and Western Union both offer money orders as well. Not sure what kind of fees they charge

Perfect! Thanks. I will go to my bank and/or Canada post and inquire there. Appreciate your reply :thanks:

PayPal definitely the easiest, but if not, a USD money order is easy from any bank or post office.

Shoot, that reminds me I am supposed to send one as well!

I've never heard of a travel agency that doesn't accept credit cards. Something doesn't smell right.
It is through my 'magical' travel agent for a dessert party. I've done all of my booking through her over the last couple of years (by credit card). It has something to do with them paying Disney (we pay them). I agree that if I wasn't comfortable with my agent, I wouldn't do it this way.
BTW went to the bank today and got a money order - super easy! No charge from my bank (but of course the exchange with the Canadian / US dollar :headache:).
